Why did Perazzi quit making the TM-1?

    I was wondering this while reading another thread regarding the current value. It seems like talking to people that have owned them and reading commments on TS.com they are/were well liked.

    The "T" series necessitated production of two basic frames, both single & double frames. Everything they produce today is based on only the double frame. Streamlined production but I feel they made a serious mistake.

    Is not the KX-5 a modern TM-1, albeit not as fast pointing. Does not a BT-99 have the quickness of a TM-1? Could not somebody merely copy the TM1/TMX with today's computer controlled machines and clean up?
