PEOPLE SAY THEY DON'T PLAY THE MONEY(PURSES) ANYMORE BECAUSE OF THE 27 YARD

SHOOTERS TAKING IT ALL. BUT I DON'T THINK THAT IS ALL SO TRUE. IF THE ATA AND

THE LOCAL CLUBS HOLDING THE STATE SHOOTS AND SUCH WOULD LOWER THE COST OF THE

PURSES MORE, PEOPLE MIGHT PLAY THEM. IF 25'S ONLY COST $2.50 A 25 FOR A TOTAL

OF $10 BUCKS OR THE 50'S ONLY COST $5 A 50 FOR A TOTAL OF $15 BUCKS HOW MANY OF

YOU WOULD PLAY THEM? LOOK AT THE GREAT EASTERN PURSE, WHEN SHOOTS HAVE THIS

PURSE AT $25 LOOK HOW MANY SHOOTERS PLAY IT.WHY? FOR ONE IT PAYS BACK 6 PLACES,

SO THE OK SHOOTER HAS A CHANCE AT GETTING SOME MONEY BACK. BUT LOOK AT WHEN IT

GOES TO $50 BUCKS A POP THE NUMBER OF SHOOTERS PLAYING IT DROPS OFF BY ABOUT

65%. VERY FEW PEOPLE PLAY THE HIGH GUN PURSE THAT ONLY PAYS 3 PLACES BECAUSE

YOU HAVE TO BREAK A 97 OR ABOVE MOST OF THE TIME TO GET ANY MONEY BACK. WHY NOT

MAKE ALL PURSES PAY BACK A MINIMUM OF 4 PLACES, BUT 6 WOULD BE BETTER. IF THEY

DID THIS WHATCH HOW MANY SHOOTERS WOULD PLAY THEM THEN. I BELIEVE IF THE PURSES

WHERE CUT IN HALF ON THE COST AND THEY ADDED MORE PAY BACK PLACES, A LOT MORE

SHOOTERS WOULD PLAY THEM. AND AFTER ALL, THE MORE SHOOTERS THAT PLAY THE MONEY

THE BETTER THE BACK WILL BE.

    WHAT DO YOU THINK?????????

Why does it have to be about money? I wonder how many people would not shoot at all if it were a no money event? If you win all you get is a cheap blue ribbon with 1st place on it and a certificate with your score written in crayon ... I just wonder how many people would show up for that shoot?

Beach - The prices you recommend were available in the 70's and early 80's. So were $4.00 ammo and $10 to $12 entries. Cost continue to rise, so option costs must follow suit. - Lower purse and option costs will not help a bit.
A change in our system, possibly like Jerry Houser states, 3 hole, 50 yard targets might help. - Jim
