Why....the country is fine, its the people who populate that give me heartburn.

You want historical references, how about Luis IVX and Napoleon. How about the Vichy French...what you need more?

Its like asking why people don't like catching STDs.

After 15 years of bad and good times of USAFE basing in France, the end was decided by General Charles De Gaulle. On 7 March 1966, he announced that France would withdraw from NATO's integrated military structure but not leave the political organization. He gave NATO forces one year (until 1 April 1967) to depart France.

The State Department, Department of Defense, and Air Force carefully managed the news about the American departure from France, and the attendant problems of an integrated NATO air defense for western Europe and the decrease in tactical airpower. Fortunately for State and DOD, the media was focusing on Vietnam, so the removal of NATO forces from France went virtually unreported in the US.

De Gaulle's payback to us for fighting to free his country while the Frogs took the glory..

As was said above, the French are arrogant and their sole claim to fame is their ability to cook. Pasteur and Currie were exceptions.

Appeasing Nazi sympathizers who require socialist business policies to support their inefficient and unproductive business model.

They now even have to bribe european french women to have additional children so that the eurooean french will not be the minority after the next generation dies off - good immigration policy - HA!

Here are a few of my reasons :

    1. We hate them because they supported us during our fight for Independence. And without their help , we would still have to eat shit from the British.

2.We hate them because even though now we have become the most powerful Country in the world ,we still just eat shit. While they have the greatest food and the best wines .

    3. We hate them because without French, we would only have about half a Language (the rest we got from the Germans)

On the other hand , that's really a moot point since by the next Generation we all will probably be speaking Spanish anyway.

And we just HATE THAT .Lol

Just a little aside here, to fan the flames!!

A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, 'whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English.' He then asked, 'Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?'

Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied 'Maybe it's because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German.'

    Best,
    Dennis

France was once a military, scientifically and economically a world "super power". Now, France has fallen to a slightly lower level of world influence, but this change has not been accepted well by many in the government and the general population. The current socialistic trends apparent in France guarantee that they will become less influential throughout the world. This cycle, historically, is applicable to every Nation that has been a world leader.

France continues to believe and act as if they are a world leader but they are no longer in that position.

grubbyjack- I am pleased that you read my post correctly. We do seem to be following the pathway that France followed and we might even be walking down that path faster than France walked.

You mean people acctually shower more than once a week? Here in the dry N.W. it takes a week to collect enough water for a bath and water for the horses. RG
