Let's see who can come the closest to picking the championship events winners. I'll start.

    Singles: Ray Stafford. R/U:Leo Harrison

Handicap: Harlan Campbell (I really think some one from the 20 1/2 yard line, but wouldn't know who to guess) R/U: William Sayles

Doubles: Richard Marshall over Sean Hawley in a really long shootoff.

    HOA: Richard Marshall

    HAA: Harlan Campbell

These may change as I think more about it.

With all the disgruntled southwest Ohioans & north central Kentuckians that are staying home, it is highly unlikely an 18 yd. adult will do it.

I agree with almost all of your picks on the Lady's, except I might take Stacy Bringelson in the handicap. Stacy seems to peak at the right times. I couldn't decide on Kambra for sure for the singles, but I like her chances. Stephanie is tough in the doubles. We will have to see which Janessa shows up for the doubles in order to maybe give her a run. Nora and Debra are always the favorites, but these kids are coming up. Lauren Mueller and Rachel Hopkins will be in the mix also. Should be a lot of fun watching all of them.

    Who cares in all reality?

'sides..it's really not the "World Shoot"...it's just a large shoot held once a year. It's not a true championship and the participants did not earn the right to enter...just show-up, pay for the event and shoot.

If anything is to change for the betterment of trapshooting, then the "championship" should be shot by those that earned it throughout the year by winning other tournaments.

Ata boy John, don't let facts get in the way of your opinion!

The last numbers I saw from show The Central zone representing about half of the shooters at the Grand 47%. John, Ohio is in the Central zone. Ohio attendance was higher then anyone from the Eastern Zone state, much higher than anyone from the South Western zone, any only exceeded by Tennessee in the Southern zone, and Missouri from the South Westerner zone. In fact John, Ohio was fourth highest in attendance.

Shoot well, get your facts straight.

    Jim

Who knows, but the "BIG ONE" more than likely will be won by somebody(probably an average Joe) who just had a great day. At least that is how it has usually gone down in the past, what makes it the Grand, and what makes it magic! The late Dick Baldwin summed it up in poetic wording in his book "The Road To Yesterday". It's a large part of what makes this a great sport. If Curt had his way, they could just hold it at some two trap club in Ohio that had a parking lot that would hold 20 cars beause that's about how many people would show up!

k 80, the ohioans have cried and moaned since the Grand left. I was an Ohio resident for over 10 years. Check the % of Ohio shooters today vs. the % when in Vandalia. Shooting the Grand for the 47th year. You didn't take exception to the short yardage, I knew too many around SW Ohio, SE Ind. & Ky who may not have won the shoot offs but were in them.
