The man hit 660 homers in the majors and sold more Orange Glo than any man alive. I say he deserves his own National Holiday.

Willy Mays hit the homers not the loud mouth huckster on TV.

Billy was a gentle and misunderstood soul who loved children, and his creative contributions helped define my generation. Plus he was a 24-time All Star. Nothing you say can change that.

After watching the tv special about pitchmen I think he was husband and father trying to provide for his family the best way he knew how.

People judge him because he wore a glove on just one hand. They're all a bunch of OrangeGlo-phobes.

Trappy: The man is enshrined at Cooperstown. Unless a person makes world-class wooden barrels, playing baseball is the only way to get in there. Duh.

See -- That's the problem with open-source resources like Wikipedia... the anonymous fool who wrote that bio for them didn't even know Billy played for the Giants and Mets!

He actually lived around the corner from the Silver Dollar. We were there this morning, had no idea any of this was going on.

I guess this means I can safely turn the volume back up on my TV.

Willy Mays is black and had a signature over the shoulder catch....you had to see it to appreciate it. he was one of the greats in baseball. Billy Mays was white. He was a pitchman, not a pitcher.....pun fully intended. My guess is, he was a nice guy buy hey, to me he was an annoying voice I won't miss. He left behind a family who no doubt will miss him dearly. RIP

If you don't see why Billy's record post-season clutch performances and All-Star game appearances were way more important than how well he sold OrangeGlo, you must be a LIBERAL and a Barack HUSSEIN Obama lover, that's all I'm trying to say. America, love it or leave it!

Wait a minute. OMGB got me thinking... Willy was black and Billy was white?

Hell, I thought all that OrangeGlo stuff just wore-off his tan.

Let's just forget that I brought the whole dog-gone thing up.

    Sorry,

    Gary
