I don't know if he is the stupidest SOB in the Senate. There are so many other equally deserving competitors that it is a very hard call as to who is the stupidest!

I have a worker who is a single father of two pre-teens that makes $22.50 / hour in my company, in 2007, a local bank approved him for a $300,000 mortgage with $30,000 down. The property was foreclosed last year after an ugly bankruptcy file.

I have to pick up the tab of his two daughter's school supplies, lunch tickets, and some clothing expenses now, because I refuse to see two young kids drop out of school due to this stupid consequences.

Besides the borrower, who's fault is this? This bank deserve the lost.

Why should things like equity and the ability to repay be used as lending criteria? This is feel good - outcome based - change we can be sick in. The problem isn't with the dumb senators (they are actually quite smart) it is with the people that are dumb enough to believe this crap can work.

I know a lady (friend of my wife) who had 3 houses in foreclosure all at the same time. 1 in Oregon and 2 in Nevada. And, she was pissed when she was turned down when trying to buy a 4th house. Said it was unfair to turn her down, she needed a place to live and could not get a rental as rental companies now do a credit check. She finally found a landlord who did not do credit checks and talked him into letting her move in with just the first months rent. She moved 6 months later, owing the landlord 5 months rent. She did keep the place clean though.

I have a friend in Portland, OR who has several rentals and with the new laws he said it is next to impossible to kick a deadbead out. Say's if he needs to get one out, he offers them $500 cash (probably more now)if they move by the end of the month. Hasn't had one refuse the free money yet. Say's it's cheaper than trying to kick them out. If you try, they stay forever and end up trashing the place. Best thing my ex-wife ever did was force me to sell my rentals when we divorced. What a pain in the big muscle.

A couple of years ago a bank in Peoria approved a 90% loan over thirty years for an eighty year old man. His daughter is stuck with it, as heir, as he lived only one year into the mortgage period. Why are the banks in trouble? Same reason as the rest of the country...led by those dumbasses that think everyone should have everything...whether or not they can afford it or will work for it.

The stupid socialist want to take all responsibility away from the private person. They know that most people do not act responsible with a dime in thier pocket. Trouble they don't let them go thru a struggle when things don't go right. Until responsibility, ethics, morality, honor, and dignitity are put back in out education we will fall into a marxius state very shortly.

If you people think this fall at the voting booth will make a difference then you better get your head out of your ass cause the machines are going to be rigged and programed to show a percentage to go to the people in power now unless teaparties put hardcore watchdogs on this and varify all machines and certifications.

The last election I seen the REMC electric co. in Marshall County Indiana only have Mo bama posters at the polls during voting time. This was against the all election rules.

Somehow I can't find one person willing to admit they voted for the freaky SOB.

This stupid sob is a Hitler in elementary cloths. Wake up you stupid Liberals.

I have seen the same thing. My wife and I worked for years to get our first house and it was little. Then I see the young couples where I work all get bigger homes with no money down right after they are married. It is too easy to get a home now and those homes are all bigger than they used to be. Now they want help when they get into financial trouble.

The problem is the banking industry. They do what they want and if and when they make a mistake they go to the government to bail them out. They have the single most powerful lobby in the country and there is no downside to their business exposure so they can and do almost anything they want. Examples: Wells Fargo is modifying some of their loans and guess which ones they are modifying; their A rated loans; in other words the loans for people who aren't having any problems! And Citibank received $80 BILLION from Obama and put it into their balance sheet and used it for investments and loans. All this with no payback provisions and no interest.

We need to vote out of office every incumbent in November and keep doing it until these idiots start to understand that they are there to help the country and not just to get rich.

From the OP's link, "Pelosi Says Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants a “Human Rights” Issue

House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif) insists that immigration reform, including amnesty for the estimated 12-20 million who reside in the US illegally is “the most critical human rights issue of our time.”

“Right now, too many of these immigrants are forced to accept back-breaking labor at low wages because they are afraid to apply for welfare,” Pelosi alleged. “They have no say in our government because they are afraid to vote. In short, they are blocked from full participation in our society because of an accident of birth.”"

Holy Crap Batwoman,,,,they shouldn't get welfare or a chance to vote,,,,these are RESERVED FOR _CITIZENS_ OF _OUR_ COUNTRY!!!!

What do you expect from this Bozo, rational thinking? Dodd "retired" from the senate because he couldn't get re-elected. The Connecticut Democrats have chosed Richard "I wore the uniform in Viet Nam" Blumenthal to be his possible replacement. Is anyone able to explain to me the difference between these two nit-wits? Further yet,is anyone able to explain to me Dodd's statement that it isn't fair to limit homeownership only to those who can actually afford it?

Surely there is somebody on this site who can enlighten me to this line of reasoning.
