I'm in the market for a GOOD scale, best reviews I've read are for the RCBS 1500. Are there better ones out there? It will be used for center fire rifle and checking powder drops on my MEC 9000's.

Don't know if it's the "best" but I've been using the same Pact since I bought it in 1992......never a hiccup in 17 years......

Don't know the other brands, but my PACT has worked without a hicup for 20+ years. Accurate and easy to use. Fred

I've had a Pact BBKII for quite a while and it works great.

    And, still $89.95 - I think it's a bargain.

PACT makes good scales under their name and also makes scales that are sold under other brand names. Some of these other brand names have been mentioned above with claims that they are superior to PACT.

I'd suggest the $130 one. Good luck.

If you reload for rifle accuracy the RCBS Charge-master is hard to beat. It will weigh every charge automatically and is easy to use.

I have a PACT next to my shotshell reloaders and it is all you need for checking charges.

I have an RCBS Powder Pro; I believe it was made by PACT. It's the same $130.00 unit that stokinpls is talking about on the PACT website. Exact same case, just RCBS green. Cabela's shows the PACT on their website for $125.95 if you shop there.

I have a Dillon electronic purchased way back when they first came out. I think they were being made by Ohaus at the time. It has been a good one.

Define "Best". There really is no best scale. They all work, and basically do the same thing. The leader in electronic scales is, without question, PACT. They probably make 90% of all the scales mentioned above. Some are in different cases, some are a different color, some are "brand named", but, they all come from PACT. I've had a PACT for over 10 years now, and it has never let me down. They are all, for the most part, very good scales... Dan Thome (Trap2)
