I procrastinated for a long time but finally joined Facebook. It has helped me stay in touch with my family & friends a great deal. Most of my old friends and all my family live in other states. Facebook has allowed me to stay in touch with their daily lives.

I've heard alot about it, but it doesn't interest me. E-mail, cell phone, land line is about all my feeble mind can handle, and my checkbook. I still have a rotary dial telephone in one room of the house. Charlie Henderson

I joined Facebook some time ago, just in case some old long lost friend was looking to find me.I find it to be a bit of a nuisance with all the friend requests from people i have never heard of, offers to join other groups, play games, etc. I prefer to stay in contact in person, via email and the good old phone.

I can see where it might benefit some people, but i think it's highly over-rated. I spend enough time each day managing photos, visiting my favorite sites and emailing friends and family. It is kind of cool that a pimple faced kid could start something like Faceplant and end up being a gazillionaire. Good to see he's donating the bulk of his billions to charities.

Sounds like a personal ego trip to me or some really insecure people.

There are to many currents ways to communicate without telling everyone when you last blew your nose.

I opened my account after finding out that a couple of past students open one in my name. They didn't do any thing bad but after i had them shut it down I opened my own to protect myself. It does allow me to stay in touch with friends and family.

I used to be until my Brother in law passed away at 40. I wanted to be the one or felt it was my responsibility to break the news to my daughter that was very close to him and was away at school. When I got her on the phone, she already knew because his friends had already had it all over Facebook. It has it's good points but it has it's bad points and that bad point didn't sit well with me so I axed it.
