Used to do it all the time. Threw everything but the rum in a blender, then chilled it and added alcohol and a sprinkle of nutmeg. After about the third one they started tasting 'thick', so I've since switched to Daquiris and Margaritas.

Years and years ago I saw a liquor salesman light Bacardi 151 with a match. It burned with the prettiest blue flame you ever saw. JPM

I found a premixed eggnog at the booze shop. "Evan Williams" made with Kentucky straight bourbon, blended whiskey, rum and brandy. Only 30 proof, $7.99 + tax. Not to shabby.

I may not be able to "mix" a reload worth a damn, but I make a MEAN homemade eggnog. Family mix from WAY back. I'll dig it out and post it if anyone is interested. Between the eggs, heavy cream, booze and sugar, I really doubt your family physician would approve, but Santa loves it and it puts the Mrs in a REALLY good mood.

I have made it for years using a family recipe over two hundred years old. (I'm not quite that old though.) The secret is in the hooch, and what it does.

I do. Wouldnt drink anything else. NOTHING you can buy comes close. Everyone that tries it says it's the best they have ever had. Christmas wouldnt be Christmas without it - as it has been in my family for over 80 years.

It's tradition to make eggnog from scratch. I use my father's formula which includes rum. If you've never had it you don't have any idea what you're missing.

Merry Christmas to all. We can say that here can't we?

Egg Nog is vanilla custard; add bourbon and rum to taste. If you want it rich add a quart carton of vanilla ice cream. Sprinkle with nutmeg and serve chilled.

Another excellent holiday drink is French 75 named for Napolean's cannons. This consists of three bottles of champagne and one bottle of vodka. Chill and serve in a traditional punch bowl. Place a small block of ice in the bowl to keep it cold. Drop a strawberry in for a little panache.

    Cheers!!!

I have a friend who has tired for 10 years to try to match my recipie. He gave up. LOL

Another friend and his wife loved my egg nog. When I came by the house to drop it off he would answer the door. James, here is, then there was a flash and the two jars of egg nog were gone. His wife had zipped by and grabbed them my fingers and all. You could see her in the corner lapping the nog up like a cat purring like one to. LOL. James said don't go near her. She will attack you protecting the nog. If you asked for some she would say sure then get the sewing thimbles out.

As for store bought egg nog. Those who make their own egg nog will agree that store bought is horse piss egg nog.
