Giacomo is the best I have ever used. I have tried others and was very disappointed in their work. Dan at Giacomo's ended up redoing their messups.

my experience with giacomo is personal with my gun mx8/20
i found him @ the silver dollar
i needed a hammer spring and he noticed i had some finger prints in the blue but was kind and not critical. and the wood had some wear.
so he reblued barrel and trigger. nickeled the receiver and refinished the wood.

when i got it back it looked like a new gun ! and the cost was reasonable.
i don't get great work and great price very often !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've used both Giacomo and Glenrock Blue for all my customers' guns.

Giacomo is good, but I prefer Phil Filing at Glenrock BLue in Glenrock WY.

He has done many Perazzis for my customers, as well as, many other types of guns.

I can unequivocally say that Glenrock is the BEST in PRICE, SUPERBV QUALITY, quickness of service & delivery time, ACTUAL shipping charges. Best of all; Phil 100% stands behind all his work. Every single gun I have sent him came back better than factory.

In fact, a couple of weeks ago he reblued one of my personal Perazzis that got some rust on the barrel. It came back in fantastic condition, better than factory bluing AND absolutely NO sign of rust. It was PERFECT; I was thrilled. AND ... you can call and talk to him.

He is the sale of the earth - GUN BLUING IS THEIR MAIN BUSINESS!

I have sent many Krieghoff barrels and 2 receivers and iron aniversary edition to Phil at Glenrock.

Whiz is right, bestest, fastest and reasonablest. Better than new in every case.

Stogie, light rust is easy. Take a penny and rub the rust with the edge. The rust will come off easily and won't hurt the blue. Once you're satisfied the rust has been removed, polish the whole barrel with Flitz polish. This process will save you a bunch of money if the rust is minor.

If you want to re-blue yourself with little to no mess, email me and I'll give you my secret.

I recently learned of a small shop called BlackCote owned and operated by Bob Martin, a machinist by trade, who will be forced into retirement soon and will be running his shop full-time. It presently is a part-time operation located near the small town of Liverpool, Pennsylvania (near the Perry/Juniata/Snyder County intersection). I took a rifle receiver and bolt to him to have them bead-blasted and reblued in a matte finish to match a Leupold scope for a custom rifle I'm building and the work was absolutely perfect. I thought his charge of $25.00 was extremely fair.

A link to his website is above. Turnaround time should be very good - I had my parts back in a week.
