    Zara,

Are you the guy that broke all the 100 straights in Reno back in the

70s. Those West Coast targets are really easy.

Might want to wait until the state team races are shot at the Grand this year. The results could at least identify the best state shooters at that event.

Only fair comparison has to take into consideration the size of the shooting population. I originally came from Utah. Not a big state. Some pretty darn good shooters. Now I live in California. Big damn state. More good shooters. Etc., etc.

I would imagine that it would be the state which fielded the most shooters in the recent World All-Around Championships...

    Obviously, ALASKA.

You just can't tell it for sure from our averages...since we spend 7 months a year shooting night targets in 3 feet of snow at sub-zero temperatures.

With the likes of Kay & Deb Ohye, Bob Malmasadt, Russo Bros, Bobby Boehler and others, I would say..New Jersey right now has the best overall shooters in the country! But, Alaska with Dave & Carol Inman, Cory Cogdell, Whitney & Sasha Ruesch, Jim Fleming, Jeff P and the foul weather they are right behind NJ.

For a state with about 3 million people, Utah has a heap of great shooters. Much larger percentage of great shooters to percentage of countries total population.

Utah has great shooters and a great place to shoot! Take them outside of Utah "most" don't generally fair as well competing in the midwest and out east.

I would say it's a regional thing, not a "state" (except for lumper). Midwest and eastern targets are not as consistant as western targets. It appears more Midwest and Eastern shooters go West for Shoots, but not many western shooters go East and win. Flame on!
