I was thinking of purchasing a nice Spanish SxS and of the five Spanish gunmakers (Arrizabalaga, Grulla, Garbi, AyA, or Arrieta) was wondering which one made the best reliable solid built SxS for the money and gives the best service if needed? Is there anybody out there that owns any of these fine Spanish made SxS? What is your opinion of them?

Never owned a sxs but a good friend has a AYA sxs, they are a very well made, reliable good quality gun and quite inexpensive, a lot of gun for the money. A highly regarded shotgun.

Arrizabalaga as long as you included them in your list.

Pedro Arrizabalaga is the top dog and on this list followed by you choice of Grulla, Garbi, Arrieta. The former is a $10k used item, the latters are $5k, new

Find and read Terry Wieland's book "Spanish Best"

Worth the read. You don't just buy one (not to sound like the old tater chip ad) but meaning there is much more to the aquisition.

    regards

You can't go wrong with AYA.I hunted with an AYA Matador 26 in barrels ic/mod.Had a single select trigger with a beavertail forearm.Wood was beautiful.Paid $375 for it.Great memories.

They each make several grades of shtguns --- from the standard grades up to the "holly crap how much do they sell for" grades.

Strongly suggest you don't buy one until you get at least the chance to handle one. I've also found the European field guns come with very servicable double triggers but that, in many cases, their efforts at single trigger's are problematic at best,
