I purchased one of those hand held Garmin etek units for hiking, etc... Never could figure out how to use it.

A couple of years ago I purchased a Tom-Tom car gps on the spur of the moment at a retailer that had them on sale. Plugged it in and was using it in less than 5 minutes. Does the job for me. I have no way to compare it to the Garmin auto gps, never had one of those.

I'm happy with my Tom-Tom, very easy to use, short learning curve.
