With the Winchester and Perazzi "bursts" being on my mind, I am interested in having some of my reloads pressure tested. What's available and cost analysis?
Years ago I sent some shells to Alcan (does that date me or what) and they said 3 of the shells wouldn't fire (had always worked in my guns) and the analysis left a lot to be desired.

Precision Reloading, Mitchell, SD. 5 Shot String: They measure velocity, pressure average, extreme variation & standard deviation of your 5-shot string. Cost is $40.00. I have no experience with the shotshell proof testing but they are a very reliable company to purchase components from.

Try Downrange Manufacturing. They do it for $25 I believe.

I just sent 5 shells to Downrange to be tested.

They've tested shells for me before.

    Phil,

You probably need to send the 5 cartridges via UPS (post office won't ship loaded cartridges) and make sure they put an "ORM-D" sticker on it. Costs me about $7.00 to send via UPS.

The output Kevin sent me was a pdf file with a description of the load (which is provided by you) the 5 individual shot pressures and muzzle velocities, average pressure, average velocity, high/low pressure, high/low velocity, hi-low spread on pressure, hi-low spread on velocity, and velocity standard deviation.

Technically speaking, one cannot put an ORM-D sticker on a box to ship, UNLESS you have attended and certified by the shipper's training classes.

UPS charges $600 for the class.

I would do as suggested and just ship them... and cross fingers nothing bad happens.
