We are staying at Mahoney State Park over the 4th and I am looking for a good place to do some shooting. Probably Skeet, trap and sporting clays if possible.
Anyone know of a good spot?

Lincoln Ike's is shooting registered on 4th. About 30 miles from you.

Mahoney is about halfway between Omaha and Lincoln.

I haven't lived there for years but I know there is a nice shooting range south of 72nd and I-80. Papillion?

I shot a few years ago in Lincoln. Nice folks. Good place to shoot.

It looks like Papillion is for members only, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the info on the registered shoot but the other family members are not serious trap shooters. We basically like getting together on major holidays and playing knock out or biggest chip, shooting some skeet for bragging rights and even some sporting clays if we can find a range close enough.

Right now I would say we are probably going to go to Platte River park or Harry A knock for some skeet.

If anyone has a better place let me know or if one of the above is horrible let me know.

    Thanks,

    Todd

Check Harry A. Koch trap shooting park. It's in Ralston, not Papillion. Sorry for leading you astray.

No problem, that will be our second choice or our go-to if they want to shoot skeet. How did you find the help? I found some reviews online that claimed they were horrible but we will still give it a try.

Lincoln Trap and Skeet north of 48th and Superior in Lincoln, NE has trap, skeet, and sporting clays. Very nice shooting grounds and my home base. Good shooting to you!!

    Ashland Gun Club.
Trap only, unless they have added to the club in the last few years.
3 miles north and 1/4 mile west of Ashland on Hwy 66.
This is where I learned to shoot in 1961. My grandparents lived in the 2 story farm house 3/4 mile west of the club.

Platte River State Park is close by to Mahoney. They have an interesting facility for shooting. They have a trap range, 5 stand, 50 yard 22 range and indoor pellet gun range.

I would stay away from the restaurant at the lodge at Mahoney. Last time we went it took almost an hour to get a sandwich and it was not very good. They have a lot of bad reviews on the various restaurant review sites. There are some good restaurants in Ashland if you want to go out to eat.
