How's it working out for those that voted to the left or sat at home because they couldn't support a Republican and believed those who said don't worry about your gun rights?

Elections over, Democrats going all out in several states to limit access to guns, limit access to AMMUNITION, and outlaw any gun that looks dangerous.

Also, some pushing for additional taxes on firearms and ammunition purchases.

Background checks for ALL ammunition purchases (passed in NY).

Insurance required on even hunting guns.

A call for more gun free zones (kill zones).

In some quarters a call to store firearms at the range.

Not Republican proposals, all from Democrat's who before the election were not after your guns....

A new law just being pushed in NY.....

N.Y. bill would force gun owners to buy at least $1M in insurance

A bill introduced in the New York State Assembly by Assemblyman Felix Ortiz, a Democrat, would require the state’s residents to acquire liability insurance as a condition for gun ownership.

“Any person in this state who shall own a firearm shall, prior to such ownership, obtain and continuously maintain a policy of liability insurance in an amount not less than one million dollars specifically covering any damages resulting from any negligent or willful acts involving the use of such firearm while it is owned by such person,” Bill S2353 reads.

Any person who has not purchased insurance in compliance with the law within 30 days of its passing would be in violation of the law, which “shall result in the immediate revocation of such owner’s registration, license and any other privilege to own such firearm.”

Liability insurance for $1 million in coverage for gun owners is estimated to cost between $1,600 and $2,000 annually, the Examiner reports.

Again REMEMBER who is your Politician these days! NOT a run of the mill joe smoe!

They are mostly "Lawyers"! if you've ever been around a law suit, WHAT do they do??

Their first move is to see who ALL is involved and what is their "liability insurance coverage" IS!! THEN that is the amount they go after!!

    Corruption in its LOWEST form!!

Know you know WHY they are pushing for this coverage!!!

    CHIP, CHIP, CHIP!

Oh, yeah, reasonable gun control. Need to compromise.

The four bills that passed the Colorado legislature yesterday was supported by the newest anti gun lobby, "Mayors Against Illegal Guns"

They outspent the NRA 10 to 1 so far.

And there is no basis to challenge this bill if it becomes law. Thanks to the US Supreme Court ruling in Obamacare that it is constituently permitted to require somebody to buy insurance. In Obamacare it was health insurance, in this case gun liability insurance

bisi, i respectfully disagree with your assessment of how the scotus would react to such a ridiculously heavy handed abuse of legislative power. this is nowhere close to reasonable regulation. it is a thinly disguised effort to bypass our 2nd amendment rights, and the court would not allow this. in fact, it wouldn't make it out of the first challenge, in a local district trial court.

How could $1million insurance cost $1600-$2000/year? That is out and out gouging! The insurance through our club costs about $5-10 for $1million. This covers us for hunting, target shooting, fishing, hiking, berry picking, quadding, whatever we are doing as club members in the outdoors.

Insurance actuaries are pretty bright about calculating risk, and law-abiding firearms owners (who would be the ones buying any insurance) are among the lowest risk parties you can find. Anyone quoted rates as high as were quoted above should be looking for a new insurance provider.

Again, as I said many times before, Obama's coalition of female college students, minorities (not all groups), gays, labor unions and African-americans can be defeated if all the OTHER PEOPLE don't stay home and/or vote for a marginal third party candidate who does not have a chance in HELL to get elected.

Obama got elected because some were too stupid to see the FOREST for the TREES!
