On June 25th the US Olympic Shooting Team announced that Billy will represent the USA in the World Championships held in Munich in August. He is on the Shotgun Team shooting his specialty, doubles. Good Luck Billy T.

Y'all are a little behind the times. Billy has been representing the USA in international competition for two years. With distinction I might add. He's the top junior in the world right now in double trap, just needs some more experience and he will be a podium contender in open competition.

If I remember correctly, Billy Senior was a little pushy with ATA officials regarding FTF's with Billy Junior and some other issues. Young Billy supposedly had a bad habit of bumping the mics prior to shooting so he could see the birds in flight, especially on doubles.

I said it before and I'll repeat it. Billy Jr's tapping the speaker stand wouldn't have happened if the scorer had waited to turn the speaker on until the shooter raised his gun. So many scorekeepers don't shut the system off on walks, even between squads, and target fly everywhere costing the club money.

You've got to be kidding. You're blaming the trap help for this kid's apparently deliberate abuse of the system?

You can tap the mic stands once and a while and it's an accident. Every station and it's deliberate. I don't know the frequency of the problem referenced above, but I certainly wouldn't blame the trap help for it.

It doesn't matter who is on the line or when. If the speaker is turned on as the shooter raises his gun, the problem is solved.

The scorekeepers at the Tucson T&S club are taught to turn them off. Most do, some don't, especially the greenest. Just moving the speakers will launch and waste a ton of targets.

Gads look what I started! 3 years ago this forum took off threads that had any mention of Crawford that's how many opinions there were. I know both and have shot with Billy Jr. Never did anything to me so I'll let the ATA take care of things like this which they did. Good luck Billy!

    Just two comments.

I lead off often and when I change posts I turn to the scorer and nod. Never had a problem getting a first target that way. Bumping the microphone is breaking the rules. No excuse for it is acceptable.

People don't forget. They'll forgive but you have to earn it.
