The only thing dumber than "where are you located" might be "I paid XXXX dollars for it." Please feel free to chime in with your some of your personal favorites.

So, Rick, how do you ask someone what area they live in? It can be very useful info for a face to face. maybe I'm missing something, thanks, Jack

Doesn't seem dumb at all. If I am interested in a gun, I'd like to know if the seller is close enough to me that I can see the gun before I buy it.

Sorry to be so dumb, but I ask that question a lot if I'm buying or selling something. Ross Puls

Edit--- In fact I did that just now, (as I'm traveling) & can meet with the seller. Sure simplifies things.

I'm with Rick. This is the internet and not a sale across town. When a guy asks "where are yo located", he is essentially saying he doesn't feel comfortable buying this thing o'er the net.

From my perspective, one thing some need to get accustomed to is buying an item and if it is not perfect, resell it.

Rick was not asking for poster criticism, rather he was hoping to start a funny thread about all the silly/dumb things we say. Adn be entertained in the process.

"What's your 20". Matt, you wouldn't be hangin" around cops would you.
That's code for your location on the 10 codes. 10-20. Some things I just don't forget. Colonel

I live on the "left" coast..where you must register all guns into your name before you see it, so trades are outta the question, or at the least dang near impossible to complete...I like to let the seller, or buyer know ahead of time..the usual 3 day inspection period, as we see on a lot of guns, does not apply, unless it is already in the state...Larry
