We all know that reclaimed shot has flat sides on it. When does this happen? (1) Does new shot get flat when you pull the trigger? (2) When the shot hits the target? (3) When the shot hits the ground? (4) During the reclaiming processing? (5) Is new shot really better then reclaimed? Just a thought for today

It happens shortly after the primer ignites.

    A square is two-dimensional.

    A cube is three-dimensional.

I've seen shot with flat spots on it, but never cubular...

    Seriously...

Have you heard about the new Hexagonal Shot for Hunting?! (no kidding...) I think its from Winchester... I saw a picture - cubed with rounded corners to pack tighter...

I wonder when that will be available to self-load?! How will that drop?!

    regards all,

    Jay

Check out the website for Winchesters "Blind Side" shotgun shells with "squarish shot with rounded corners" and the section of the shell with it looking so perfectly stacked in the shell. We've been worrying about getting perfectly round shot and now the Hevi-Shot and this square-looking shot is touting the better patterns for hunting, and that shot also lend to better patterns for targets, so do we now want square shot ?? I don't think so. JMHO
