What do you like to shoot for handicap? Shot size? Velocity? Also, what yard line do you normally shoot this load from?

I just started shooting my 1 oz. load of 8's from my 23 yd. handicap yardage. 16.5 gr. of Promo and a pink AA 1 oz. wad with a Cheddite primer in a red AA hull. IM choke 34 in. XT Combo single barrel....I was surprised that it actually "smokes 'em".

I prefer my handloads over new shells. I use Remington Nitro or STS hulls, Fiocchi primers, 18.5gr Promo, original Windjammer wads, and 11/8oz of 71/2 magnum shot. These loads run about 1225fps out of my DB-81 34" barrel, back bored to .742" and choked to .708" (.034"), by Tom Wilkinson. If I use factory shells, I prefer 3dr. Nitro27 with 71/2oz's of shot. I shoot from the 27 yard line.....Dan Thome (Trap2)

Just passing through the 26. WalMart Federal cheapies in either 7.5 or 8, whatever they have, it doesn't seem to matter.

I have 3 punches from the 27 this season with my own reloads; AA hulls, Win 209 primers, WT12 wad, 1 1/8 oz 7 1/2 hard shot and enough Green Dot for 3 dram eq load which has less recoil than factory Super Handicap.

17.5 Promo,Green Duster,1oz of 8's in the summer (7 1/2's in the winter), Nobel Sports primer, all wrapped up in a Gun Club hull.

About as "El Cheapo" load as one can find, but it works for me.

Shooting from the 25, I use my own load:

Gun Club or STS hulls, 1 oz. hard shot, 18.0 grains Clay Dot, a TGT-12 wad and a Rio primer for 1250 FPS.

    Also shooting from the 25:

Gun Club, STS, or Nitro hulls

1-1/8 oz. hard 7-1/2 shot (my shot bushing has been hogged out to throw a true 1-1/8 ounces of high antimony shot)

    18.2 grains Hodgdon TITEGROUP

TGT-12 wad (don't use the Claybuster clone, they suck)

    Win209 primer

By the book (sort of, by extrapolation, and the experience of others) it should be right around the same speed as the factory Nitro 27 load.

2 oz's of buck shot. Unfortunately they won't let me use it. Seriously though 1oz 8's, greenbuster wads, STS or Nitro, or gun club hulls, rio primers and International clays powder around 19 -20 grains. Sam eas I use for singles and doubles. May change when I get a bit farter back like maybe the 25 yrd line.

From the 25, I like one ounce 7 1/2's, Rio primer, 20 gr Rex 1, Claybuster CB3118-12AR wad, Federal Game hull.

Or same shot, primer, powder, Claybuster 12SO clone, Diana hull.

Angleport XF choke in the K-80 Unsingle.

27 yard... Estate light 7.5's, or new super handicaps. Favorite reload is 20.5 superhandicap powder with all AA components.
