    What

What's the worst metro area for Trap? Fewest ranges, highest cost.

I'll start off with Atlanta. One range within 35 miles of downtown, and a round is $6.50.

I agree about Atlanta. Had a nice Olympic Facility but they tore it down. Chicago is just as bad. Orlando is not much better.

I think Northern Illinois has a wealth of trap shooting opportunities

West Chicago.Aurora Sportsman Club..And If you live on the south side of Chicago we can add clubs in Indiana..Issac Waltons are close by..I might have left out a few..

The metro area of Big Tunnel Virginia only has one trap club within a 2 mile radius and that club only hosts 14 registered shoots a year. That is rather a poor showing for such an active metropolitan area.

I would actually argue that the Chicago are is one of the best for shooting opportunities, despite all the politics. I can think of at least 6 facilities that are within an hour of me, luckily the best one being just 5 minutes away!

South East Florida. Two places to shoot between N. Palm Beach and Miami (about 100 miles apart) and they're both county operated facilities. $7.50/25 targets.

    What is there around Detroit?

I never considered Atlanta particularly bad,,.... don't they still have Wolf Creek, River Bend, Conyers, and that slick sporting/trap facility just south of town.

Denver is the same, in mileage, but we consider there are plenty of opportunities within reach. I think you country boys are spoiled from shooting off of your back porch.

Sportshot, Atlanta has Tom Lowe 12 miles from Downtown at $6.50 a round. River Bend Gun Club is 60 miles away, and River Bend Gun Club is 36 miles away. 36 miles is a bit too far to go for a regular activity.

Membership in River Bend is $900 for the first year and $300 thereafter.

Membership in South River is $600 for the first year and $300 thereafter.

I guess they're successful at keeping the rabble out at those prices.

I'm not familiar with the sporting/trap facility south of town you mentioned.

    Perhaps this is it:

Not much of a Trap presence.

There's Griffin Gun Club, 40 miles away, but they only have one Trap field, and their site is sketchy on how often they shoot.

At those distances, I'd say that Atlanta only has one range in the metro area.

"What is there around Detroit? " You ask..

Detroit is actually a hot bed for trapshooting. Between Mason, Michigan, Home of the MTA, and D'town, there is a plethora of fine trap facilities, many shooting registered trap.

Sportshot, $6.50 a round is pretty bad.
