Was wondering what does handicap on the box mean. I found a shell i like to shoot (Remington Nitro 27 HDCP) at sporting clays. They are 1235fps.

Its an event in Trap where shooters are placed at various yardages according to their skill level, The better you shoot the further back you are placed back to 27yds.

Shells that make a louder "boom" than standard 3dramers.

The Nitro 27 shells are better utilized from the 24 yard line on back to the 27. Great load and good hull to reload.

BKMS...you need to leave the dark side and move over to trap. Bring those Nitro 27's with you. LOL

Shell manufacturers label their shell differently. But a general rule for 1-1/8 ounce loads is:

2-3/4 Dram Equiv. is 1145-1150 fps.

3 Dram Equiv. is 1200 fps.

3-1/4 Dram Equiv. or HDCP is 1235 to 1250 fps.
