    what

i have a 32x scope that i keep in it's box. i took it out to look at it and all of the rubber parts are sticky. or worse, melting. the black residue sticks to your hands and you have to scrub with soap and water to get it off. what's going on with thing? thanks

Either it didn't get along with something you used to clean it or it's one of those deals where the rubber just begins to "decompode" on its' own. Either way not a good thing. They have a repair shop down in Florida, but I've never sent anything like that in. Time to go online shopping. Good luck.
