    This is beyond sanity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

School Renames Easter Bunny 'Peter Rabbit'
    ABC News
(April 7) -- A Rhode Island public school has decided the Easter bunny is too Christian and renamed him Peter Rabbit, and a state legislator is so hopping mad he has introduced an "Easter Bunny Act" to save the bunny's good name.

    Where do "holidays" come from???????

Christmas,,,,had nothing to do with the birth of Christ,,,or "Christians"!!!! Christmas was a "pagen" ritual that was "stolen" by Christians in a time long past!!!

Some other "pagen" rituals also used to be honored by Christians until the rituals true meaning was contemplated!!! For example,,,"The May Pole Dance" once performed by young girls in this country,,,,But,,,once they found out it was nothing more than a "fertility rite" and the pole the young women were dancing around symbolized a male penis,,the dance was STOPPED!!!! There are others...

It is NOT beyond insanity,,,when you consider just how those so-called holidays came about!!!! Easter is one that should be questioned as well,,by anyone that has escaped the grip of the true insanity called "organized religion"...

Haven't you ever wondered why??? WHY its always a politicion that tries and saves these rituals,,,"over fear they may be losing their grip on more of their sheep thru straight thinking"!!!! Their is need for sheep,,,and they have an connection with those in power!!!! They have an intimate, symbiotic, relationship!!!!!! And always have,,,,since the time of Pharohs and before,,,From the Greeks and their Gods,,,to the Christians and Muslims with their ONE GOD!!! There has always been a close relationship!!!! Haven't you ever wondered why a crooked politicion has always been elected by sheep,,and they are always the first to be surprised when the politicions true nature has been unmasked?????

We have made it to the 21st century,,,,problem is,,,,,We came with 1st century baggage!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The "reason to" beleive in Mr.Nick was lost----long ago!!! About the time business partners decided to mass market for christmas at thanksgiving!!!!! It then turned into--"something else"....

Grammie, I beg to differ. Christmas was always a religous holiday in some beliefs. It may have not been called "Christmas" however. Presents, St.Nick, and the tree became popular as additional Scandinavian and other ethnic groups entered the US. Don't you watch the History channel?

The vernal equinox,,,the summer soltice,,,these could be called 'religious',,if you were a Druid!!!!

They were definatly religious if you were a member of one of the Plains Indian Tribes!!!!

"In some beliefs"----Key Words!!! But "Pagen" in form and nature.....

I would rather belief in "Santa" and hope he existed than have Grammie's

thoughts of being ashamed of himself for not figuring that out before he was

six. Everyone needs something to believe in, even an atheist.

Grammie, The statement you made was incorrect. You noted specifically Christmas. Had you said something about the "vernal equinox", I would care less.

There good and bad people in every walk of life. I'll give anyone the benfit of the doubt, till they prove otherwise.

Hah hah hah ... I hunt and kill Peter Rabbit and his brother Peter Cottontail all the time.

I have hunted the Easter Bunny for years though ... just like Santa Claus. I have sat upon my porch long long long before sunrise on Easter morning along with I have sat upon my roof beggining long before midnight on Christmas Eve for many years and I have yet to get me Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny ... they are both elusive and mystical beings ... it saddens me when people will change the names of mystical beings into things that are shot and killed all the time. Poor Peter Rabbit ... I saw another of his relatives run over this morning on the road.

According to a minister who has a column in my newspaper, the word "Easter" does not occur in the bible. Therefore purging the word "Easter" because it is too Christian makes no sense.

The minister posits that the word comes from the name of an Anglo goddess of fertility called "Eostre" (the root of the word "estrus", perhaps) so the celebration of Easter probably has implications of pagan fertility rites as spring is the time of rebirth, etc.

In any case, don't get too exercised about it. I doubt that God does.

Now before some of the bible thumping holy rollin maniacs get there panties in a twisted bunch it was just a freakin jocular post.

The "God haters" have been, and always will be opposed to ANYTHING that has any remote reference to God or Christianity in general. Their venomous attitude bears evidence of their desire to remove anything that could "offened" their desire to ignore or deny beleif in a higher power beyond their simple humanistic existance. In the end it is not enough for them to deny God's extistance. They can only be truly satisfied when NO ONE beleives in God. They do not simply want freedom "OF" religion, they want freedom "FROM" it. I never was too keen on the Easter Bunny anyway, because I always thought it detracted from the the true meaning of Easter, but that said, I don't go around trying to remove it from view. I will leave that to the liberalistic, socialistic, athiestic, and sarcastic drudges that make it their lifes goal to rail against such things.
