How did we spend the Surplus?

The economic growth and tax reform reconciliation act of 2001 (EGTRRA),the job creation and workers assistance act of 2002 (JCWA),and the jobs and growth tax relief and reconciliation act of 2003 (JGTRRA).Then the cost of the War,and didn't we have a stimulus package under Mr. Bush?Anyone know the total cost of this?

So,would it be fair to say we were in debt up to our ass before the new guy took office.I did not,and read my lips vote for this person.

Some of you people act like fourth graders calling other people names.

For Petes Sake This Is America.

Some in the South still hate the Yanks, some still hate the people from Japan, some still hate the Jews, some still hate the Catholic,s,some still hate the Southern Baptist, and then you have the KKK.

You got beat, Accept it.There is (WAY) too much hate and Personal attacks on this site.

We have young kids fighting, and giving their life for you to have the right to speak up and voice your opinoin. But,you have no right to down a fellow American that may have fought a War to save your Freedom, which could be this right.

I would hope that some of you would think about this.

When this ship sinks we are all going down.

So, lets just hope America regains the regard, and respect we once had as the Greatest Nation of The World.

"OICU812 doesn't know that the Dow was as high as $14,165, then fell to $7,553 on November 20, 2008."

"The DJIA is expressed on dollars, you know $"...

You make George look brilliant, pal!!

After 9/11 for those of you with a bad memory, our economy went in the tank which was the direction it was headed in the last year of slick willie. Bush handled it perfectly and we recovered quickly.

Then the Dems got control of Congress and back in the tank it went. Go figure.

    Half mile,

Why are you so quick to dismiss quinn's figure of $3 trillion for the war in Iraq? Per your link, the Congressional Budget Office estimates that the long-term costs of the war in Iraq will be $2.4 trillion, and Joe Stiglitz (1991 winner of the Nobel prize in economics) estimates that the total cost of the war in Iraq will be $3 trillion.

Gary,,,,his is an estimate (guess) of what it will cost over time,,,,we KNOW that the spending bill is $787 BILLION,,,,now add in interest and you can put a realistic non-guessing number on it (assuming there are no cost overruns)....

You liberals are so cute talking about the cost of the war in Iraq. We got rid of a dictator that was going to be a thorn in our side and cause instability in the Middle East as long as he was in power. We set up a democracy. Iraq was the main war. Afghanistan is the side war that will never be won. But even if you don't agree with the Iraq war as a liberal complaining about the cost of the war is a little ridiculous. Obama in a few weeks in office has already exceeded the cost of the whole war and he is only getting started. Then you add in the 50 trillion dollars worth of liberal Democrat social programs due the baby boomers and you see that the war in Iraq was a small drop in the bucket of debt this country owes. Then you add to that the new programs coming on line from Obama Hussein and the other Spendacrats like "free" government health care for everyone. Liberals are so funny. Their stupidity is funny. They have completely destroyed our country and soon what little freedom we have left but they are funny. Think of Obama as our on cute little Chavez. Take from the honest workers and give to the poor ignorant lazy immoral masses and you can stay in power forever.
