I had a 1967 irredescent white Mustang. It had a 351 Cleveland, 5 speed Hurst shifter, Perelli mags and it got me into trouble ALOT. lol Three speeding tickets in one month to start with. Cost me $300 before the extras and I paid it in payments of $50 over 6 weeks. I dated a tow truck driver and it spent alot of time on the hook. I wrecked it in 1982 and sold it for nothing. I think I got $75 for it. Wish I still had it today. Somewhere I have pictures. I will look for them and scan them.

Hard to believe, but at a horse sale barn, my Dad bought me a 1958 Borgward.

Four cyl., 4 speed on the column, made in Germany. Surprisingly, it was a solid little car, and I got a lot of good miles from it. I checked the mileage once, and got over 32 MPG! Of course, at $.29 a gallon, who cared.

A '65 Dodge Dart 4dr with rust so bad that the family cat crawled into the trunk through the rust holes behind the rear wheels. It had a 225 c.i. slant six with an automatic on the column, not push buttons on the dash. It was a P.O.S. but I was happy because I could beat my brother's '64 Chevy Bel-Aire, which had a 230 six in it.

    Zero to 60........ Usually..............

A 1/3 interest in a 1922 Model T, no top, silver w/college sayings and yellow and black checkerboard hood. One of my partners was a P-38 pilot hence the hood. It was in 1948.

In 1966, a `59 Triumph TR 3, Cobalt Blue with a white convertible top and side curtains. Rebuilt it from ground up; rust and dings, trans, engine was good. I`ll have to get another one. The first one cost $100. They call it drifting today, we called it heel and toeing. Felt like Sterling Moss.

69 Plymouth Satellite ,PR blue with a Paisley "Mod Top"....junked it in 1980 with 170K on the 318. The engine still ran great but the body was returning to the ground from whence it came, one rust flake at a time. After trying to seal and reseal the back window to keep water from filling the trunk, I finally rigged a funnel and piece of plastic tubing which dripped out the water through a rust hole behind the rear tire......

1958 Volvo PV444 Paid $300.00. 4 speed with B-16B engine. Twin SU Carbs. The accelerator linkage broke one night on a date, so I clamped it at fast idle and power shifted our way to the movies and home.

This car had a radiator cover that operated like a window blind. Pull the chain under the dash and it would come up and give some extra heat.

Black 1957 Chev BelAir 4 dr hardtop. 283 4bbl Powerglide. Got 18 mpg on 19 cent gasoline if you kept your foot out of it. Bought new. Hard to keep gas in it working for 75 cents an hour as a high school senior though.

My first vehicle was a Ford Econoline Supervan with a straight 6 in it. A 240 or 260 CI. I pulled that engine out and put a high performance 302 in it. Couldn't keep motor mounts in it. In college we loaded it up so full of beer kegs that we went around a sharp curve and went up on two wheels! A regular shag wagon!!!
