What brand of bag would you buy for ATA shoots. I am looking for a new one and was wondering what was available.

    Thanks, Ed

A pal of mine brought me back a saddle leather bag from Vandalia in the mid 90's. It a forever bag and will last generations!...someone on here may know who built it and if they still attend the Grand. It wasn't cheap but quality seldom is.

I recently bought a small Shamrock for my line bag. It is perfect to carry 4 boxes of shells and a few items that you might need. Quality of their products is top notch!! If you travel to the line with more than the bare essentials, then you probably want the large Shamrock bag.

I also carry a patrol bag that I bought at a police supply place for the trunk of my car. That is where I store my vests, gloves, glasses, shells, etc. These two bags carry all of my trap gear and it makes it REAL easy to grab my stuff and pack the car.

Whatever one gives Fudds a serious case of angst.

Camo would be a good start. Maybe with an embroidered skull and crossbones.

I don't like to carry a lot of stuff and I like durability so the one I bought at mason works very well for me. Just a heavy leather shell box [holds one box] and mesh bag attached. I'm sure it will last the rest of my life and maybe all of somebody elses. Lonesome Charlies I think. Bill

Shamrock or Galco ... They make many diffrent style so you can find one to your liking ... I have a bag from Cow Boy Rick that was built to last several lifetimes, I do not think he is still doing them or that would be the only way to go ... This is a Cow Boy Rick Bag ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

My wife and children went together and bought me a Shamrock bag as shown above. A friend told me wow that bag has character.

I had a Galco and sold it - regret.

SemperFi, I was in the same category. I used an Eddie Bauer diaper bag for years as it is the right size and I already had it from my kids. But the bottom finally blew out and it was time to buy something "trappy." It was a good decision and I am very pleased with the outcome. Now I am thinking about getting another just because mine is really cool!

I bought my first "leather" shooting bag from Shamrock at the 1975 Grand American. I used it and abused it for 25 years. It's been rained on and soaked a dozen times, bake dried in the sun, filled with sleet once. Lost in the snow one winter night when the wind made it drift fast.

Through all those years Ed and his wife never once balked at refinishing it, upgrading it or re-lacing it ... FREE OF CHARGE! I have also been lucky enough to win a few Shamrocks and all of them have been "personalized" for me free too.

That's why I did and would again buy Shamrock. I'm sure the other guys bags are excellent too but the Brophy Family of Shamrock has been there for me for nearly 40 years.
