What in the heck is going on here.....

If the immigrant is over 65 they can apply for SSI and
Medicaid and get more than my mom gets for Social
Security, and she worked from 1944 till 2004, only
getting $791 per month because she was born in 1924
and there is a "catch 22".

It is interesting that the federal government provides
a single refugee with a monthly allowance of $1,890.00
and each can also obtain an additional $580.00 in
social assistance for a total of $2, 470.00/month.

This compares very well to a single pensioner who
after contributing to the growth and development of
America for 40 to 50 years can only receive a monthly
maximum of $1,012.00 in old age pension and Guaranteed
    Income Supplement.

Maybe our pensioners should apply as refugees!

Consider sending this to all your American friends, so
we can all be ticked off and maybe get the refugees
cut back to $1, 012.00 and the pensioners up to
$2,470.00 and enjoy some of the money we were forced
to submit to the Government over the last 40 or 50 or
    60 years.

Please forward to every American to expose what our
elected politicians (Nancy P. Included) have been
doing over the past 11 years - to the over-taxed
    American.

    Just an observation...

If the "over-taxed American" you refer to has continued to re-elect the same offensive politicians over and over again for as long as you claim, then (1) these Americans have not taken the time to find out what their elected officials are doing, (2) apparently don't care very much even if they DO take time to find out (because they keep re-electing the same people), and/or (3)approve of what the elected officials are doing on their behalf. In any case, if any of the above conditions are a reality, the politicians can hardly be faulted for what they are doing, can they?

Why do Americans continue to re-elect the same "thieves" to political office?
The reason is Americans are given the choice to select between the lesser of two evils. If the incumbent is re-elected, at least the people know what kind of politian he/she is; but you now have to put up with the same rubbish as before. When are the people of this country going to wake up? What we need is a third party that has some clout to knock these life long politians out of office and bring some sanity to America.

You can all thank Jimmie Carter's administration for this. They passed legislation that grants all legal imagrants 100% social security benefits upon
reaching age. Regardless if they have ever contributed anything at all. - Jim

Clayshooter53 its comments like yours that is the reason we have so much apathy in this country! Every voting citizen needs to explore each candidate background, incumbent or not. If that person does not represent the wishes of the voter, vote for another candidate. The lesser of two evils is crap! Thats a lazy persons excuse for not voting! Do the right thing..GET OUT AND VOTE!!!

That is probably the poorest rationalization for political apathy I know of. In our general elections just held, voter turnout was under 25%. Several highly-qualified and very worthy write-in candidates and independents for powerful offices were defeated because the majority of the voters either (1)could not be bothered, (2) didn't take time to investigate the candidates outside their own party or, (3) feel like you do. At any rate, I repeat my question: Why blame the politicians?

I think before throwing around some of these numbers, you the writers should show the proof. My wife is a LEGAL immigrant. she worked here for 30 years and paid SS and Medicare and she recieves both just as you or I do. The SS is based on her HONEST earnings. I think that is fair, what is wrong with it??

Bill: Nothing at all wrong with it. It's fair and proper. The mistake is in reading these absurd allegations and forgetting they're just somebody's bad fantasies. No facts there at all. Might as well have said "all illegal immigrants in the U.S. can get $2522.50 SSA at age 65, no questions asked, even if they never worked in the U.S." (pssst: pass it on!) It's trash. Phil E

If you jerked the Golden Fleece from under the political control and put them all on Social Security and Medicare you would find the loop holes fixed quickly. As long as they have their needs taken care of, do you really think they give a damn about you lowly working class folks. Please don't wind me up about the excellent benefits the immigrants can qualify for. Medical care, education for their children at our expense, and jobs their country couldn't supply them. And then qualify for more at age 65 to boot. Welcome to the land of plenty! What was that line, "Give me your needy, ah heck, just send them all. Maybe some of them will end up paying taxes.

Folks, fantasies like this are lies. Passing on lies is as honorable as sending out a computer virus. It's easy to find out who can get SSA benefits and who can't. All SSA offices have free brochures. Or a person could call their 800# at 1-800-772-1213 & just ask. Or it's easy to look at their complete procedural manuals at ssa.gov/regulations/index.htm. Is this all that much harder than making stuff up and passing it on? Phil E

Read the last paragraph even if you skip the rest ~ this woman is a nut case!
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401Ks and Mutual Funds - all to help the 12 million illegal immigrants and other unemployed minorities!
Boy, are we in trouble... This woman is frightening. Take special note of the last paragraph. Is she really this whacked out?

Nancy Pelosi condemned the new record highs of the stock market as "just another example of Bush policies helping the rich get richer." "First Bush cut taxes for the rich and the economy has rebounded with new record low unemployment rates, which only means wealthy employers are getting even wealthier at the expense of the underpaid working class"

She went on to say "Despite the billions of dollars being spent in Iraq our economy is still strong and government tax revenues are at all time highs. What this really means is that business is exploiting the war effort and working Americans, just to put money in their own pockets."

When questioned about recent stock market highs she responded "Only the rich benefit from these record highs. Working Americans, welfare recipients, the unemployed and minorities are not sharing in these obscene record highs." There is no question these windfall profits and income created by the Bush administration need to be taxed at 100% rate and those dollars redistributed to the poor and working class." Profits from the stock market do not reward the hard work of our working class who, by their hard work, are responsible for generating these corporate profits that create stock market profits for the rich. We in congress will need to address this issue to either tax these profits or to control the stock market to prevent this unearned income t o flow to the rich"

When asked about the fact that over 80% of all Americans have investments in mutual funds, retirement funds, 401Ks, and the stock market she replied "That may be true, but probably only 5% account for 90% of all these investment dollars. That's just more "trickle down" economics claiming that if a corporation is successful that everyone from the CEO to the floor sweeper benefit from higher wages and job security which is ridiculous." "How much of this 'trickle down' ever gets to the unemployed and minorities in our county? None, and that's the tragedy of these stock market highs."

"We democrats are going to address this issue after the election when we take control of the congress. We will return to the 60% to 80% tax rates on the rich and we will be able to take at least 30% of all current lower income tax payers off the rolls and increase government income substantially." We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest."

When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied: "We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long ways to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as 'Americans.'"

The real truth is....illegals are sucking the life blood out of our economy. Check Kaladamfornya if you want to predict future ramifications for the rest of the nation.

Our free society is depending on "The Rule of Law" to regulate and set standards. Liberals and democRATs conveniently forget to enforce laws, this on purpose. Resulting in said law to be ineffective and marginalized. Anarchy is one way to win the debate. Anarchy also a way to get common citizens to depend on arrogent elitists for what is perceived as leadership. Leading us into socialism, less freedom, and government dependency.

Load'em on Amtrak (all of them) and ship'em to the boarder at gun point. Enforce existing laws on immigration. Screw the polititions that feel we need to change the laws that have governed past immigration. 70+% of the public feel this way. A majority if I remember right.

Hold on there Maltie. Those people came here to work. I believe that they should get just what they wanted. We need to LET them work. We could provide the work uniform,(orange jumpsuit),housing,(jail),food,(beans and rice),and protection from those that would do them harm,(armed guards). They could pick our fruits and veggies and do other jobs all under the watchful eyes of their "protectors". They could be rented out to farmers and others that are in need of their skills and the profits from this enterprize could be used to fund various civic improvements. Thus, they could become productive citizens in about 20 years.
