I used to start on post 4, but decided I like starting on 5 first. The way I see it is I'm most focused early in the round. So getting post 5 and 1 out of the way first will lead to more 25 straights. I'll never be squad captain. Where is you favorite starting post?

Any post but in league it's post 2. I figure post 3 is the hardest because it's easy to be lazy and you can get lefts rights or straits

Lead to more 25 straights, I rather doubt it.

Post 4 first. Not to hard and get a little warm up before moving to the difficult 5 then 1 positions. After that it smooth sailing while remembering to stay focused on 3 to finish.

You've got to shoot them all sooner or later.

Kind of reminds me of the time a famous (at the time) race driver was asked if he had a favorite track. His answer was no, because that would mean others were less than favorite and he would be less likely to do well there.

Depends if we're talking singles or doubles. Singles any post will do, I trap the first bird in doubles so 4 or 5 is good. I never get the post I want all the time so I don't worry about it too much.

Years ago I got in the habit of always wanting to start on 4 so as to finish on 3. Still kind of partial to that idea, but I'm not so OCD that I can't start on other stations.

I will have to say though that I prefer not to start on 2 .... as a lefty #1 has never been my favorite so I'm not partial to ending there. :)

Chipper the easiest way to mess with your mind set is to get stuck on having to start on a specific post.
What happens when you go to a tournament/meat shoot/league ect. and there are some open spots available but not your preferred post that you start on in practice ect.

When you practice during a open shooting day at the club sign up on different posts...it will help in the long run.

My start special is #4. Start out a little difficult, get the tough ones out of the way and skate in free.

When I was in my prime I was a squad leader by choice for 15 years...and shot my best scores then, including doubles. But then I had to back away from trap for several years and now I like post 3 to start off.
