Brasso Multi-Purpose Metal Polish works well and is available locally. I have had very good results with Brasso and ground corn cob media.

    Bigunn,

DO NOT USE BRASSO. Brasso contains ammonia that attacks and weakens brass. It makes brass brittle. The brass is the seal between the burning powder and your face during ignition.

The ground walnut shells and time will polish the brass just fine. Save the Brasso for your uniform brass. I've used gallons of it for that purpose.

Nu Finish car polish.(not the wax) Makes the brass look better than new. A cap full in the media is all it takes to do a BIG batch. Available at your local Mao-Mart. Also throw in a used dryer sheet to trap the grime that comes off.
