What killed America

    Do you remember during the VietNam War, that draft deferments & exemptions were given to teachers, & those entering the teaching profession. Well, I honestly believe this was the formation of a cadre to control our educational system. These teachers & their ilk pushed students along who followed their anti American beliefs. The results are taking hold today. Our Pres. & his disciples are products of our corrupted educational system. They control every aspect of gov't.

    Unless we flush them out, there won't be much time left.

    How do you propose flushing out tenured professors?

    We as conservatives definitely need to become much more active in our communities, local levels of government, and on college and high school campuses. We don't need to "preach" to the kids, but incorporate cool activities that would interest them and show them that we are not as crazy as the dems would have them believe.

    Give them super long sabaticals---this way their influence will be greatly diminished. Tenure should only mean , you can't be fired--but it is not a license to poison our youth.

    Not being a religious zeallot, another thing killing America is when Religion was removed from schools. A persons morals come from their religion. Our country was founded on Judeau Christian philosophy. How many polititions have any morals today? Oh, besides conservatives, LOL. I believe they still say a prayer before Congressional meetings.

    It was not just teachers.....anyone entering college had a draft deferment. or a civil service job that was war/military related. or a politician and lots of other slots. oz

    I have been shouting this from the roof tops for 35 years. I fought it when my kids were in school and I still face it with my Grandkids. I find myself teaching, or I should say, re-teaching much of the history they were indoctrinated with in schools.

    Here is my prescription: First, and foremost, we conservatives need to pool our money and buy the news media, TV channels, radio you name it. not to pervert it, but to bring truth, justice and the American way back into it. IF you read Gramsci's "quiet revolution" that's exactly what the Liberals have done. They intentionally seized the Education and News systems of the country. Gramsci is also reported to be the subject of Hilary's Masters Thesis.

    I stopped donating to the Republican Party 10 years ago because they wouldn't listen to all the evidence I sent them on this topic. I now give directly to only those candidates that are truly Constitutional conservatives.

    Next, read Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" and start acting like the Dem's do. We are suffering from a masterful mis-information campaign lead by these methods and 30 years of profound neglect on our part.

    It's ugly but the minorities need to be reminded that it was the Democrats that were lynching them, wholesale, until they figured out they could buy their vote. Plain and simple, that and all the other Separate-but-equal and bleeding-for-welfare scams that have been foisted on them are the single shame of the Democrats and their Liberal rulers.

    Until we start acting like American's again, there is no hope, and the change is just what happens to rotten flesh.

    I have taken to volunteering in my school system, and even acquired a state teaching certificate to insure the liberal administration couldn't make exception of my offer. It's taken some time away from my shooting and travel, but, like Teddy R said, "..the credit goes to those in the arena..."

    As Pogo said, "we have seen the enemy and he is us"......

    We have done it to ourselves thru either indulgence or complacency re indulgence...

    Now the Pendulem has to swing all the way over to the other side before any change will occur....

    Obama will be "Make or Break" for the USA, if he gets re-elected in 2012 its essentially over.

    I would say 50/50 at this point ....

    Lack of religion, taking God out of schools, chasing the almighty dollar.Killing of babies.
    We were once a blessed country because of our faith and trust in God.

    When God can no longer look at us because of corruption and evil it could get ugly.( read about Soddom and Gomorrea}

    It will get ugly only when the Middle Class Joe six pack has nothing left and nowhere to live, when he sees his wife and children hurting......

    then he will rise up and strike out against the status quo, the Government and the Have's....

    it will get really ugly....

    I do not think this is possible for at least another 50 years or so....

    in the meantime we have television, baseball, dancing with the stars, tiger woods, obama, trap shooting, nice guns, ts.com, good food, drink, women.....

    what more could we want....

    America's not dead yet....

    America, as you knew it is OVER! Congress has voted benfits to every possible constituency which could vote for them. They gave away your money and your country so they could be elected and re-elected. They have even given Social Security benefits to aliens!

    The final blows are being prepared right now. The Socialists and radicals in Congress and the White House are in the final pages of implementing the radical agenda which will bring this country down. They began by corrupting the schools back in the 40's (and earlier). They proceeded to pander to every group they could hold together as a voting block. They spent us into deep debt. Now they will implement a VAT tax which will GUARANTEE that America NEVER rises from the financial morass they have plunged us into.

    Under 50+% FEDERAL taxes, our economy will falter and struggle to remain afloat. We will beopme like every other European Social Democracy, barely able to keep afloat. We will be like Greece whose very survival is in doubt.

    That was always the plan! Now that they have the three branches of government in radical hands they can do this with impunity while we stand by and watch.

    Yes, elections have consequences but when your very existence is at stake, is it wise to wait until the next election, and the next election until there is nothing of consequence left to preserve and protect?

    Sounds too dire? Too far fetched? It can't happen here! This is America! Read history and learn just what can happen and yes, it can happen here. It already is.

    What killed America? As a nation we turned our backs on God. As a nation we have become arrogant towards our Creator. By our words and actions we have told God we don't need him anymore, we don't want him anymore and we won't obey him anymore.

    Did you know that 52 of the 55 signers of the Declaration of Independence were orthodox, deeply committed Christians? The other three all believed in the Bible as the divine truth, the God of scripture, and His personal intervention.

    It is the same congress that formed the American Bible Society. Immediately after creating the Declaration of Independence, the Continental Congress voted to purchase and import 20,000 copies of scripture for the people of this nation.

    Patrick Henry, who is called the firebrand of the American Revolution, is still remembered for his words, 'Give me liberty or give me death.' But in current textbooks the context of these words is deleted. This is what he said: 'An appeal to arms and the God of hosts is all that is left us. But, we shall not fight our battle alone. There is a just God that presides over the destinies of nations. The battle, sir, is not of the strong alone. Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, almighty God. I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death.' These sentences have been erased from our textbooks.

    Was Patrick Henry a Christian? The following year, 1776, he wrote, 'It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For that reason alone, people of other faiths have been afforded freedom of worship here.'

    Consider these words that Thomas Jefferson wrote on the front of his well-worn Bible, 'I am a Christian, that is to say a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus. I have little doubt that our whole country will soon be rallied to the unity of our Creator and, I hope, to the pure doctrine of Jesus also.'

    Consider these words from George Washington, the Father of our Nation, in his farewell speech September 19, 1796:'It is impossible to govern the world without God and the Bible. Of all the dispositions and habits that lead to political prosperity, our religion and morality are the indispensable supporters. Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that our national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.'

    Was George Washington a Christian? Consider these words from his personal prayer book: 'Oh, eternal and everlasting God, direct my thoughts, words and work. Wash away my sins in the immaculate blood of the lamb and purge my heart by the Holy Spirit. Daily, frame me more and more in the likeness of thy son, Jesus Christ, that living in thy fear, and dying in thy favor, I may in thy appointed time obtain the resurrection of the justified unto eternal life. Bless, O Lord, the whole race of mankind and let the world be filled with the knowledge of thy son, Jesus Christ.'

    Consider these words by John Adams, our second president, who also served as chairman of the American Bible Society. In an address to military leaders he said, 'We have no government armed with the power capable of contending with human passions, unbridled by morality and true religion. Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.'

    How about our first Court Justice, John Jay? He stated that when we select our national leaders, if we are to preserve our Nation, we must select Christians. 'Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian Nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.'

    John Quincy Adams, son of John Adams, was the sixth U.S. President. He was also the chairman of the American Bible Society, which he considered his highest and most important role. On July 4, 1821, President Adams said, 'The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity.'

    Calvin Coolidge, thirtieth President of the United States reaffirmed this truth when he wrote, 'The foundations of our society and our government rest so much on the teachings of the Bible that it would be difficult to support them if faith in these teachings would cease to be practically universal in our country.'

    In 1782, the United States Congress voted this resolution: 'The congress of the United States recommends and approves the Holy Bible for use in all schools.'

    William Holmes McGuffey is the author of the McGuffey Reader, which was used for over 100 years in our public schools with over 125 million copies sold until it was stopped in 1963. President Lincoln called him the 'Schoolmaster of the Nation.'

    Listen to these words of Mr. McGuffey: 'The Christian religion is the religion of our country. From it are derived our notions on character of God, on the great moral Governor of the universe. On its doctrines are founded the peculiarities of our free institutions. From no source has the author drawn more conspicuously than from the sacred Scriptures. From all these extracts from the Bible I make no apology.'

    Of the first 108 universities founded in America, 106 were distinctly Christian, including the first.

    Harvard University, chartered in 1636. In the original Harvard Student Handbook, rule number 1, 'students seekingentrance must know Latin and Greek so that they could study the scriptures:Let every student be plainly instructed and earnestly pressed to consider well, the main end of his life and studies is to know God and Jesus Christ, which is eternal life (John 17:3); and therefore to lay Jesus Christ as the only foundation of all sound knowledge and learning. And seeing the Lord only giveth wisdom, let everyone seriously set himself by prayer in secret to seek it of Him (Proverbs 2:3).'

    For over 100 years, more than 50% of all Harvard graduates were pastors!

    It is clear from history that the Bible and the Christian faith, were foundational in our educational and judicial system. However in 1947, there was a radical change of direction in the Supreme Court. Here is the prayer that was banished:'Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence on Thee. We beg Thy blessings upon us and our parents and our teachers and our country. Amen.'

    In 1963, the Supreme Court ruled that Bible reading was outlawed as unconstitutional in the public school system. The court offered this justification: 'If portions of the New Testament were read without explanation, they could and have been psychologically harmful to children.'

    Bible reading was now unconstitutional, though the Bible was quoted 94 percent of the time by those who wrote our constitution and shaped our Nation and its system of education and justice and government.

    In 1965, the Courts denied as unconstitutional the rights of a student in the public school cafeteria to bow his head and pray audibly for his food.

    In 1980, Stone vs. Graham outlawed the Ten Commandments in our public schools.

    The Supreme Court said this: 'If the posted copies of the Ten Commandments were to have any effect at all, it would be to induce school children to read them. And if they read them, meditated upon them, and perhaps venerated and observed them, this is not a permissible objective.'

    Is it not a permissible objective to allow our children to follow the moral principles of the Ten Commandments?

    James Madison, the primary author of the Constitution of the United States, said this: 'We have staked the whole future of our new nation, not upon the power of government; far from it. We have staked the future of all our political constitutions upon the capacity of each of ourselves to govern ourselves according to the moral principles of the Ten Commandments.'

    Most of what you read above has been erased from our schoolbooks. Revisionists have rewritten history to remove the truth about our country's Christian roots.

    Sheer stupidity has killed us. Complacent people (at least half of Americans) are not capable of rational thought, accepting personal responsibility, or critical thinking in their decision making. I blame the educational system for dumbing down English and rewriting history to the point that educations are meaningless anymore. Additionally, the media spoonfeeds us so much liberal and politically correct propaganda that those aforementioned people literally can't tell the difference between fact and fiction. Remember, statistically half the people in the country have an IQ below 100. That doesn't help their ability to think critically. They just believe what they see on T.V.

    Our unchecked legal system teaches us that whatever happens to you, it is not your fault. There is no such thing as an accident of just plain bad luck. It HAS to be someone else's fault, and you deserve to be compensated. Until and unless tort reform is enacted this will continue to get worse. We are the only civilized country without a "loser pays" civil legal system.

    People attach no value to anything they don't have to pay for. Half the people in this country pay no income tax, therefore they don't care what happens to tax rates. With health care, which unbelievably people think is somehow a constitutional right, there is no perceived value because people think they are entitled to it.

    The whole concept of entitlements is wrong. No one is entitled to anything, only that which you earn. The left's primary lynchpin of wealth redistribution is not just socialist but communist thought. How Obama could have been perceived as moderate to the electorate when in fact he was the most left wing nut in the Senate is a testament to the ignorance of the majority of Americans, McCain's lame campaign, and a masterful job of deceptive selling and false advertising by the media.

    You add this all up and throw in the unsustainable debt created by our government just in the last year and you can see that the future is looking very bleak indeed.

    What killed America was mankind doing what mankind always does. Go along to get along, and ALWAYS fall to the lowest possible level when offered the opportunity. Man is a funny creature. If you give him much freedom and much opportunity, but make it clear he is on his own and no safety net, he will rise to the challenge and overcome incredible obstacles to succeeed. However, if you make it possible for him to just get by with no real incentive to improve himself, he will fall to the lowest possible level of sloth. The problem is those who have become slothful multiply, and then you have generational sloth. As always happens when the system becomes too big, too complex, too fragile, and too corrupt, the system crashes..............as ours is about to.

    What killed us was going away from the gold standard and replacing it with fiat money. Thus allowing the government to print as much as it likes to run up deficit spending and inflation.
