A TV talk show did a clip on what USA made things do we have in our house. He woke up with the camera rolling and sadi that he was only going to use USA made things that day. He had a electrice razor he could not use it because it was not made in the USA. No TV in the morning. He could not cook breakfast because it was a foreign made stove and skillet. He had to take the bus to work because he had a foreign made car. This went on and on till he looked at the camera and said OOPS I have to go now because the camera is a Sony. Click. What do we have in our driveway and what do we have in our homes? If things get bad here at home do we have the means to make things that we need? I for one say no we don't. We hardly make anything in this counrty that we use at home. Its sad as hell to say that and to beleive that. We depend on the foreign mad things to much.

So can I assume that you would like to let more illegals in to make all these products you miss so much?

Hydra,it's sad to say,but it is only going to get worse.
If the US would put a trade embargo on China, the american people would be in deep do-do for clothes, shoes etc.Wal-Mart' Cabela's'and many other stores would go tits up.
We are the bread basket of the World and yet we import wheat, beef, pork, fruit, etc from China and other countries.Someone is making a #hit load of money when you pay $140.00 for a pair of shoes made in China.

You can buy a Made in China four wheel drive tractor for less than I paid for my lawn mower.

Not much made in America anymore, including wages for the middle class.

I just hope the day never comes when we start getting our prescriptions from China. There are rumors this will happen in the next three years.

All I know is that in 1971 I paid $395 for a 19" color tv. That was my gross salary for a month. Today that same tv, of which there really isn't any, costs about $125. About 4 hours wages depending on what you do.

Bo, I'm in need of a tractor and didn't know any were currently being imported from China. What brand of tractor is made in China and where can I get one? Heck, I might buy 2 if they are as cheap as your lawnmower (assuming it wasn't made in the US). Thanks for the info.

    Delbert,for starters Jinma,Dongfeng,Foton.

    Web site WWW.China-tractors.com

As for my mower John Deer X-700 list around $9,500.
Yes, you are assuming wrong. Made in the USA and no doubt a lot of made in Mexico parts.

Now, to get the fly shit out of the pepper you can buy a 30 horse four wheel drive chinise tractor for under $9,000.

The people I have talked to love them.Maybe this could be do to price.

    Good luck with your purchase.

Bo, you must have one hell of a lawnmower. I'm embarrassed to say that mine only cost me $180- made in the USA with a great Honda motor though. I'm jealous and wish I was rich like you. I didn't even know John Deere made mowers anywhere near that expensive- hope it has a cab with AC for that price. LOL

I forgot about those tractors Northern Hydraulics sells- those are made in China and are cheap too. Actually, I was just pulling your chain about wanting a tractor- I've already got a great one with a cab, CD player and everything. It's a Kubota and was made in Japan.

Don't think Obama and his merry band of socialists will bring those jobs back. As far as they're concerned, it's all just "factory jobs," anyway. And all factories do is pollute the environment, while allowing the workers to maintain "unsustainable" lifestyles and drive SUVs, right? (...and probably vote Republican, if the truth were known).

No, we need change you can believe in. We need to suffer and toil to "right the ship." And, when you've suffered enough, they'll replace those factory jobs with non-profit and government sector positions at half the pay. And you'll be damn glad to get it, too...because that's how you'll make the payments on the Chinese Chrysler car you drive to work.

The Government has a plan for you, Mr. and Mrs. American Middle Class Worker.

The stupid part is - all those factory-built things we don't make here any more, are still being made, and the environment is still being polluted by them, and we're still buying them...it's just somebody else making the money now. ("What," you say? "Keep making it here? With clean environmental technology, and keep that money inside our borders? What are you - some kind of idiot?")

We are: Trillions, and trillions, and trillions in hock up to our eyeballs to the CHINESE. And you think this is "sustainable?" You think this house of cards can stay up forever?

Someday,,,when the world is wiping its ass with Dollar Bills,,,we'll realize that all along,,,the brightest people in American Industry and Government,,,were all too smart,,,by half,,,!!!,,,and those of us,,,whose children aren't covered by Trust Funds,,,can just squirm around in the shit-muck,,,!!!,,,and play Nintendo,,,and pray,,,!!!,,,

Buzz, don't forget the great plan to put a carbon tax of $175 per head on every cow and a lesser amount on hogs to account for their farting!. It's already being called the "cheeseburger tax". We're all going to get jobs collecting this tax so we don't need no lousy factory jobs. LMAO
