Dictionary definition is "the lack of knowledge". Of course ignorance could be applied to many areas of our life. We are "ignorant" of all things we don't know about, have never heard about, may never come in contact with, nor have any interest in.

Applying this to Trap Shooting, "ignorance" abounds. I was totally unaware that trapshooting existed and I lived at that time about 40 miles from Vandalia, unaware ignorance. My uncle shot trap and when told he went to Ohio to shoot, I thought Camp Perry pistol and rifle competition and it was never discussed between us what type of shooting it was, plain ignorance. First time going to shoot trap at a practice, complete ignorance. Starting out trap shooting, showing ignorance. Thinking a better gun would produce better scores, costly ignorance. Reading, studying others techniques, videos, many rounds of practice, inconsistent scores, playing options...showing ignorance. Working on health, physical conditioning, using one gun, learning from mistakes, thinking less while on the line.....showing less ignorance!

Realizing you are ignorant is the first step in the acquisition for gaining the knowledge you know you are lacking for shooting good trap scores. Do you know what you don't know in order to shoot better? What do you think you need to do inorder to break better scores? I know trap shooting is fun, think how good you feel when you have put up a good score, do you want to do this everytime? I know I am constantly trying to overcome my lack of trapshooting knowledge, my ignorance seems to be an ongoing thing. Come to think of it now, what if I had remained "Ignorant" that trapshooting existed, would I be better off! Thanks, Biff

What's in it for me! If you pay me I'll vote! If you'll may me I'll shoot a release. I never said I was against releases just not for everyone.

I looked up Ignorant and I found a picture of a donkey in red white and blue.

Will do Tom. I had a nice long conversation with Phil this morning. I'm sure his classes are great as he is so down to earth and expresses things clearly. I had a question about sight picture and he helped clear it up some for me. Biff

    biff good thread.

" Sometimes I'm even ignorant and am totally unaware of it!" That is so much better than being ignorant and being aware of it. That makes one arrogant....and ignorant!

Ignorance is the most expensive commodity we have in this country. Stupidity is even more expensive.
