    Just what is a 2 3 4 5 hole event?

There seem to be a lot of people shooting it.

The trap machine has holes, each hole throws a wider bird.

This is an outtake from the older Winchester hand set trap machines. This machine had a plate that had a series of holes to place a pin (threaded bolt with a knurling end) in. These holes were numbered 1 to 5. As you moved the pin from a lower number to a higher number the degree of back and forth movement increased throwing wider and wider angles.

The Super Star machines had a copy of this feature and are very easy to change the settings. Just unscrew the pin form one hole and place it in another.

The Pat traps have limit switches to control the angle of the targets. There are spacers to set these limit switches, however, this can affect the field and may require additional tweaking the center the field.

This Sunday Reading (South End) has a fun shoot. Trap #1, 2 hole; trap #2, 3 hole; trap #3, 4 hole & trap #4, 5 hole.

I plan to be there, lots of fun especially those 5 hole targets.

When we had the GMV's and were able to do so....we set a trap for 5 hole targets and broke a fair number on the walls of the house.

Back in those halcyon days of yore, Camp Troy used to hold handicaps during Grand week, where they would widen the targets and wind up the spring a bit. I went once. As the saying goes, "I ain't never seen nothin like that".

Sounds like an interesting shoot, I'll have to check out trap, trap as in one, if we can change the throw.
