    First paragraph -

"It's open season on President Obama. Which is to say that the usual suspects on the right (among whom I include myself) are increasingly being joined in attacking him by erstwhile worshipers on the left. Even before the S&P downgrade, there were reports of Democrats lamenting that Hillary Clinton had lost to him in 2008. Some were comparing him not, as most of them originally had, to Lincoln and Roosevelt but to the hapless Jimmy Carter. There was even talk of finding a candidate to stage a primary run against him. But since the downgrade, more and more liberal pundits have been deserting what they clearly fear is a sinking ship."

    Rest at link.

As the U.S. progresses from econonic disaster to economic disaster, from foreign policy failure to foreign policy failure, the progressive/leftist elite will become increasingly desperate to disassociate their ideology from these disasters. Thus, they have begun (though only just beginning) to "throw Obama under the bus" in the effort to protect the ideology. That is, the meme will become that the "problem" and "failures" are Obama's fault, not that the ideology is wrong. This trend ,now just beginning, tracks well with the history of progessive socialism. Everywhere it has ever been tried, socialism and socialist ideology has failed. But always socialists have (and continue to) blamed that failure on poor leaders, etc who have just failed to properly implement the ideology. And always, they say (and possibly actually believe) that the next group of socialist leaders will do it properly and it will bring utopia.

So as our current trend towards more and more socialist policy brings more and more stark evidence of its inherent failures, I think we will see more and more, the progressive/leftist elites trying to shift the blame onto Obama, the person, and away from Obama the Socialist (and thus blaming the individual failure and not the ideology). If things get bad enough, we might even see the leftist elites join in in trying to remove Obama, if that is necessary in their view to protect the ideology. Still it is, to this point, only glimmers of a leftist move away from Obama and if things improve even only a little bit, or it looks like he could hold the Presidency in 2012, the leftist criticisms of him will fade and quickly be forgotten as long as the progressive elistist view of their ideology is not threatened.

That's an interesting article. Thanks for posting it.

But don't think you're kidding anybody by describing yourself as "on the right." I've read your posts. Gimme a break.

Keet was quoting from the article, not stating that he is on the right. Those were the author's words, not quotie Bobbye Keet's, who loves Obammmmmma.

The poster here with the nom-de-plum of a fictional Libertarian demi-god is upset because I think the tea party will be hijacked by fruitcakes that will do nothing but get unelectable fruitcakes nominated and give Congress and the White House to the Democrats.

He is also upset because I called him out on his juvenile, bigoted name-calling and boorish potty-mouth.

You have made quite clear you hate the Tea Party, because they took over the Republican party, which by the way would not have happened, if the Republicans had done their job.

Now your distain is making you look bad, because you are making the same dumb move the Dems have made, in not recognizing that we are talking about PEOPLE! We are not discussing some faceless nameless enitiy. We are talking about hard working individuals who are tired of seeing rich polictians who continue to take and demand more of what the government squandered over the last several decades.

We will add you to the list, of those who stand in our way, because you have made it clear you are part of the problem, instead of the solution.

You are the biggest juvinle on this site.

    Have a nice day.

"we villainous conservatives do not see Mr. Obama as conciliatory or as "a president who either does not know what he believes or is willing to take whatever position he thinks will lead to his re-election." On the contrary, we see him as a president who knows all too well what he believes. Furthermore, what Mr. Westen regards as an opportunistic appeal to the center we interpret as a tactic calculated to obfuscate his unshakable strategic objective, which is to turn this country into a European-style social democracy while diminishing the leading role it has played in the world since the end of World War II. The Democrats have persistently denied that these are Mr. Obama's goals, but they have only been able to do so by ignoring or dismissing what Mr. Obama himself, in a rare moment of candor, promised at the tail end of his run for the presidency: "We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America."

After reading the article which I found all too true it left me thinking there might just be hope for Skeetie. NOT!

There is little point in responding to the incoherent rantings of liberal trolls.
