What does IV stand for on my gun.

    I have a Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon IV and would like to know what the IV stands for. I think it has upgraded wood and wondered if that is what the IV indicates. Thanks for your help. Jackie B.

    The second highest grade of the non-side plated SP series. Are you sure it's not 687?

    Other than the side plate version, V is the highest grade in SP.

    It says 686 on the bottom of the receiver. I don't have a camera available now but it does have some beautiful wood. Jackie B.

    Psycho, now we know why you have that handle. LOL The engraving is not in gold nor are the birds is gold. Jackie B.
