From www.gun-tests.com, talking about the Citori XS Sporting:

"With the locking lugs underneath the receiver, the recoil is transferred through the bottom of the action, rather than the top, and reduces muzzle jump. That is a feature we appreciate."

    Does this make any sense?

The height of the barrel relative to the where the stock mates with the shoulder will affect muzzle jump. Pitch will affect muzzle jump.

    Locking lugs my a$$.

Now, I'm not the smartest guy on this site (I was once beat at tic tac toe by a chicken), but that sounds like bullshit to me.

This makes absolutely no sense to me. It would also make no sense to my Physics Professor and Isaac Newton.

I have a Citori Special Trap Edition with the locking lugs on the bottom of the reciever, and the only reason there is no muzzle jump or recoil is because it's easily over 10 lbs. (w/ a recoil reducer)

I subscribed to Gun Tests because I liked the idea of no advertising, and the way they seemed to actually check out the gun, instead of just parroting the manufacturer's marketing department.

However, they come up with a howler like this on the average of every issue or so, which pretty much eliminates the possibility of taking them seriously.

I thought a receiver design like the Belgium Browning or the Citori or Winchester 101 was considered to be a high profile receiver compared to the low profile design of a 3200 or K gun or P gun. In my experience a Citori or 101 (ouch) has more recoil and muzzle jump than other O/Us I have shot.
