On a hot day what do you use to keep the stock, with a glossy finish, from sticking to your face. This happened to me a while back and I started lifting my head. Bad JoJo lifting the head.

Anyway I was wondering is baby powder would work, or some kind of flesh-tone powder. That way I wouldn't look like I'm eating cocane.

    Respectfully Submitted,

I keep a stick of Remington 'Face Saver'. It is a shaving aide but keeps the face from sticking to the stock. Downside is you walk around with a white cheek....

Shaving stick or vaseline. Quit worrying what you look like and worry about how you are shooting.

All the items mentioned above work and work well, however, I got tired of messing with "something extra".

So, I had Greg Hissem install a soft touch comb. My face doesn't stick and/or slide and I need not worry about the "something extra".

I have tried many different things. Dry powder became abrasive to me when it mixed with sweat. Vaseline got real messy. Last year I found a product called Body Glide at Dicks. It is marketed for bicycle riders. They apply it to their crotch area to prevent friction. It really works well on my cheek (face cheek). It is not messy and it stays in place.

Go to the drug store, in the foot care section look for Dr. Scholls "Mole Skin". Cut a piece about 3x4 or 3x5 and put it on your stock where your face lies (lays?). It hasn't changes my POI and it will let your face slide without ripping your cheeks off! Works for me.

Pat, as usual, has it right. Glide is the best product for this I ever used.
Works great and no big white smear on your face. Pat, just don't buy it used from a bike rider, lol. Harv.

Try something called "Body Glide" anti-chafing skin protectant stick. I got mine at Sports Authority, but it is available at some drug stores. It's in a container like a deodorant stick, and you apply it directly from the container.

Damn, and all this time I've just been applying Pledge to my stock prior to the shoot. It makes it nice and slick. Just restrain from using it on the forend, especially if it's a slide gun. It can be a little hard to hang onto.

I have a Soft Touch but I don't think my face even touches it. Just air. My gun mount and form is terrible but it works for me. Ray
