HELLO:
what companies actually made trap guns, not guns that you could use for trap, but actual trap guns. i am interested from years ago to the present. i have a bet with a guy at the gun club about this. he said he feels that over the years there would be no more than 7 companies that made trap guns. i believe there had to be more than 7. if you know please name some for me, especially from years ago.
thanks,
steve

I'm sure i've missed some, especially those no longer made.

As an aside, Ljutic, Seitz, Alfermann, Bowen, Devault (www.devaultind.com if your interested), and Kolar ONLY make target shotguns, no game shotguns and no other types of firearms.

i just called the guy i have the bet with. he's trying to weasel out of the bet. he now is saying alot of these companies like lc smith, baker etc, had stocks so low you could not shoot trap. i told him that is not the bet. he said these guns did not have even monte carlo stocks. i said i don't think the monte carlo stock was offered until years later. he now says, the gun has to say trap on it, or he feels it's not a true trap gun. i told him, that's not true, and he's a welcher.

Many trap guns aren't going to say 'Trap' on them, but are/were nevertheless designed, manufactured and sold as trap guns.

if a guy will welch out of a $20.00 bet, that's pretty bad. he knows he wrong. he says a bonifide trap gun will say trap gun like his model 12.

your guy is a welcher. pretty hard to argue that seitz, bowen, alfermann, and Devault single barrel guns aren't built specifically for trap (and trap only, no other shotgun sport), as well as the Kolar T/C, K80 Trap Special, Perazzi MX2005, ect.

I'm SURE if you look hard enough, you will find at least one model of the following guns that would actually be marked "Trap": Remington, Winchester, Browning, Beretta, Perazzi, Krieghoff, LC Smith, Parker, Ithaca

I say have him come to your house. Then get on the web and go to the mentioned gun makers websites. Look up what they offer as listed TRAP GUNS. That should take care of it for you. If he still tries to weasel out of it than tell him to (fill in the blank) OFF.

Even Mossberg made a trap gun. A Model 500 with a high rib and a GENUINE MONTE CARLO STOCK.

And Monte Carlo stocks are NOT a requirement for a trap gun. Many have straight comb stocks, or stocks that do not drop as much as a field stock.

Your friend is a scumbag welcher.

Obviously Browning, what else are you going to use a BT-99 for? (I tried...and it doesn't work for skeet)
Beretta has your 682 GoldE and DT-10. They sell singles as well as combos. I don't know what else you're going to use that for.
Just putting out the reasoning behind the common brands.
