I recently bought a 1989 Browning Citori 12ga w/ 28" barrels. I believe it is some sort of skeet grade. The SN is xxxxPN1B3. I have checked the Browning website and there is no such type code for 1B3. Any help will be appreciated as I would love to buy another identical to this one for my wife. We both shoot it incredibly well on the skeet field. Thanks.

This is my guess, JB3=12 ga. Skeet. It may be some custom gun if in fact it is a 1 instead of a J. 1989 manufacture.

Grade (1) Skeet manufactured in 1989. Browning was horrible with their serial number stamping. It seems it depended on who was working when the gun was stamped. Maybe even where they went for lunch, and a beverage.

You might check into the Special Skeet Edition made about that same time frame...Very similar If not identical dimensions.
