I'm curious, and I'm sure others are, how much everyone pays for Shot, Wads, and Primers? Include the price for a flat (10 boxes of 25 shells) of your favorite load. If you see your area posted and you get a better price let us know. We can PM each other in our area to get the specifics. This info will help, new or recently relocated, shooters get on the right track. We can reward these sellers and keep them in business while saving some money. Please don't include tax as we are aware of our local tax rates.

    I'll start:

    Denver Colorado (Duane)

    Magnum Shot(25#) 40.00

    CB Wads (1000) 18.00

    Primers (1000) 35.00

    Flat of Win. AA 79.99

likes-to -shoot & warren, they are normal RETAIL prices down here. Sometimes we can get some Claybusters or green dusters from someone who has imported some and want to sell the rest. We can get shot from the makers in Melbourne , Victoria if you live nearby or travel $45/10kgs. We have NO wad manufacturers now but an Ozzie powder manufacturer [Thales/ADI] who also make your Clays/Int Clay/ Univ. Clay for Hogdon. But we still shoot.

At our club we buy by the truck, delivery free, no tax. Shot $36, WW primers $28, 8 pounds Red Dot, $95, wads ?. 7/8 ounce shells at those prices, $4.00 a box. 1 ounce shells at those prices, $4.25 a box. Still worth loading if you have the hulls. 28 and .410 will always be worth loading. .410s load for about $3.00 a box. Every time someone gives you some old wads or powder, your price comes down substantially. If you use free powder and wads, your price per box comes down about $1.25 a box.

Wish I could answer that one but here in Vermont I have found components to be none existent. So guess it is Wal-Mart shells .

Shyda's prices are similar to what I pay, but you pay sales tax of 6%, so the price of a $4.25 box of one ounce reloads goes up to about $4.51.

In NW PA we are about to have our multi-club large buy. Current price sheet lists the following:

    Shot $37.50
    Promo $78.00 8#
    Clays $106.00 8#
    Cheddite $22.00 per 1000
    WW primers $26.50 per 1000
CB wads $14 or $15.50 depending on wad
AA and STS $80 per flat.

None of those prices sound bad, but try to buy through a club to avoid that 6% sales tax. I guess the tax is inevitable if the club sells to its members at retail, but there is some way to beat it, I hope. Shipping across state lines eliminates state sales tax liability, I think.

Get ready for more major price increases! Shot is expected to go up around $2. Federal primers are disappearing fast as Remington's are now sky high. It's gonna get ugly!!
