The Western Grand will start Aug 30 through Sept 3. It looks like the weather is going to be great. As of now it looks like there is going to be a big turn-out. Looking forward to seeing all of you at the Great Salt Lake Gun Club. We will update the scores daily throughout the shoot.

    Thanks - Brent & Craig

Greetings from sunny Salt Lake City, Utah - home of the 20th Annual Western Grand American!

First day of the Western Grand. Weather was beautiful. We had a great turn-out with 123 in the singles, 150 in the HC and 100 in the doubles.

Great scores shot today - 10 100 straights in the singles with George Reese taking SR Vet, Marilyn Walker taking Lady and Deon Van Cleave taking B class - all with 100 straights. Darren New, Tim Reed, Petey Martin, Gerald Matys, Ken Clyde, Wm Beyl, Curt Deichman, Leo Harrison and Gary Linderman all have 100 straight carry-overs.

Handicap shoot-off between Derek Stringer and Gerry Williams with 100 straight each and Gerry Williams as the winner in the 27-yard. The doubles had two 100-straights shot by Dean Neumann (AAA Class) and Sean Hawley (AA Class).

We look forward to another great day tomorrow. Check back here tomorrow for further updates.

    Brent & Craig

I can only believe the doubles class were an error. 2 100's - 1 in AAA and the other in AA by Sean Hawley. How can that be correct. Sean is probably one of the greatest doubles shooters, if not the best, so how could he be in AA. - Jim

Like trapwife, I want to thank GSLGC for a great shoot. The fireworks were beautiful. The crew worked hard and put on a good shoot. Hope to see it return here next year.

It was a great shoot. Brent, Craig and entire staff are to be commeneded for a great shoot. Tragets, entertainment, friendship was nice.

Sunday Handicap was won by Pete Martin. He and Frank Hoppe both ran a 100 and Pete won the shoot off by running 25 straight. Great shooting Pete. Lot of good handicap scores with 99's and 98's

Jerry Parr also ran all the singles (500),. Nice shooting Jerry. Must be the clean Utah air is doing you some good.
