The West Chester Gun Club will be shooting the annual Christmas Ham Shoot on Sunday 12/20/2009.

This event is open to all shooters (no club membership required).

There will be 4 ham prizes per 15 shooters, with the hams awarded by the lewis class system.

The doors will open at 10AM for practice and the first event will get underway at 11AM sharp.

The practice trap will be open all day for those who want to hone their skills before their event or for the fun shooter to break a few targets.

BIG NEWS --**Santa Claus will be visiting the club house around 1PM. He will have hot chocolate and treats for the youngsters - free rounds for the junior shooters**--

The West Chester Gun Club will also be hosting a food drive on 12/20. We ask that you bring a nonperishable food item and drop it in the wad box by the counter. The club will be donating the collected food to a local West Chester food bank.

This is the last event on the clubs shooting calendar for 2009, so pick up the spring 2010 schedule at the club house. I look forward to seeing you there.

    VP WCGC

25 targets per event Dave. We don't have a quote on the premium hams yet, so the price had not been set. However, it will not be more than the turkey shoot.

Oohh Rich, you guys at OGC are wrapped up, put away and driving home by the time we really get rolling at WCGC. Our 11AM start is later than most shoots start to give folks like you time to drive over to WCGC after you are done at your home club. So drive on up, have a bite, then shoot an afternoon event. Really big hams too!!

Okay, premium hams in the 7-9lb range have been paid for at $3/lb. and will be picked up on Saturday.

The ham shoot is $15 per event; 15 shooters per event; 4 ham prizes per event (awarded Lewis Class).

Stick around after the shoot while we polish off any champagne not won, and wish each other health, happiness and a prosperous New Year.

What an exiting day at West Chester Gun Clubs' Ham Shoot. We had just started the 3rd event of the day- about 11:45, when I noticed fire trucks pulling into the drive, lights and sirens going!! Bad traffic accident on Boot Road! EMS requestes to use club as LZ for medivac! We quickly changed our name to "West Chester Gun Club and Regional Airport" and closed down the shoot, removed all hull buckets and knocked down speakers just in time. Not one helicopter, not 2 but 3 choppers flare and settle on the club. 2 in the target field and one in the parking lot. It took about 2 hours to get the ambulances in and the choppers out. Even then it was still exciting, Goodfellowship ambulance got stuck in the mud!! If not for Ken C with tow strap and Al G with 4x4 they would be there still. The Ham Shoot resumed about 2:15. No info in local paper about the traffic accident and we hope & pray all recover.
