Weight Drops With Bushings

    My experience has also been that the powder bushings always drop less than the listing in the chart. I also weighted the lead charge bar drop for 1 oz and 1 1/8 oz and they are over 30 grains less than the mec chart listing. This is good on the powder charge as it will keep someone who doesn't have a scale from overloading their shells. However the integrity of some powder is so fine that it may be possible to overcharge the shell. As you surmised, always use a scale. Jackie B.

    Bushing charts are guides to get us in the general area, they are not intended to be more than guides.
