I have done some modifications to my 13 year old daughter's BT-99 to make it as soft of a shooter as I can. Last thing I added to it was a recoil reducer in the stock. The gun has always been to light in the front end as far as I was concerned. Now it is really out of whack! Thought about taking out the recoil reducer and putting it on the barrel instead of in the stock or leaving reducer where it is and adding barrel weight to front to counter balance gun. Looking for input from anyone with ideas.

Try adding a clamp on barrel weight to set the balance where you want it.

Any idea where the balance point should be on the BT-99?

    How strong is your daughter?

A gun that seems too light in the front to you, may seem a little heavy in front to a kid....especially a girl.

    Pull-It,

I would try setting balance point just in front of the trigger guard to start and work from there. I shoot a Browning Broadway o/u with 32" barrels and it's balance point is at the hinge pin about 2.5" in front of the trigger guard.

MIA's lead tape trick ought to work pretty good for getting the desired weigh and balance.

It just seems like the 1100 she shot when she began was alot heavier in the front end and made her swing alot smoother. She shot very well with that gun and the BT-99 seems to be a hard adjustment for her.
