    You might find this interesting.

An optometrist has made a guide for other specialists for helping people get the right eye wear for iron sights and red dots.

Not bad, excellent in fact but needing coverage of some more situational realities. I didn't see a lot of content regarding myopic (near sighted0 shooters with minus correction.

The Special glasses were cool. Try shooting trap with that, LOL.

Great advice for pistol shooters. I would love to have a similar article for trap shooting. The two sports are very different. When shooting pistol, maximum concentration is directed to the front sight. Trap shooting required a very hard focus on the target.

I wear glasses but a few years ago, I tried contacts because I thought I would save money and time by being able to buy plano Decot lenses. The contacts made everything appear smaller and lower to the ground even though my distance prescription is only +1.50. I have enough trouble hitting targets when they appear full-size, so I went back to my prescription Decots and my street glasses.

    AverageEd...

You had a different experience than I did. I bought prescription Decots initially, and had good luck with them... Other than they were about .75" thick due to their size...

I wore contacts for snowmobiling, and some other stuff and decided to try them shooting. Borrowed a pair of glasses from a friend, and was amazed at how well I saw the targets..

Moral of my story... Try shooting with the contacts before buying either prescription or non prescription glasses from Decot or Ranger.

    My $0.02...

I agree that they needed to take it further for shotgunners. Still, it's enough to give some ideas of what direction to take.

There are several brands of shooting glasses that are available with separate prescription inserts that can be moved to different shooting glasses of the same brand and style. For me it has been a much cheaper and adaptable system than continually buying new prescription shooting glasses or contacts.
