A couple of weeks ago I decided to sell some stuff and clean out the house. Well I sold my old dirt bike to an old friend, and he said he wanted my old guitar. We couldn't reach a deal on the guitar, so I've been playing it a little. It has been 25 years since I played, so it is just like starting over. Well anyway I'm back to square one. 40 years ago one of the first songs I learned to play was "Proud Mary" by Creedence, so I'm trying to relearn it. Well anyway I have been praticing, but change the lyrics. Here goes, my parody. I know it is lame, but I usually change the lyrics every time. This is to be sung to the Proud Mary music by Creedence.

Left a good shotgun in the rack at home

looking for and extra target every night and day

and I never knew what we were missing till we moved to Sparta

can't worry bout the way things might have been

    Big Leo keeps on winning

    poor shooters keep on trying

Rollin, rollin, rollin in the hundred straights

shot a lot of targets in Sparta

dumped a lot of scores down the drain in Ohio

but I never saw a good score

    till I picked up a K80 combo

    Big Leo keeps on winning

    poor shooters keep on trying

Rollin, rollin, rollin in the hundred straights

    rollin, rollin, rollin, into Sparta

If you come down to Sparta

bet you gonna find some sandbaggers

You don't have to worry cause you took your 2 yard reduction

people at the Grand are happy to give

    Big Leo keeps on winning

    poor shooters keep on trying

Rollin, rollin, rollin in the hundred straights

    rollin, rollin, rollin, into Sparta

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I know it is lame, after I get Proud Mary down I'm going to try and play the Stones- Can't get no satisfaction and change it to Can't get no hundred straights.

I gotta get job because I have too much time on my hands now. LOL

    I know

Here's a song for you, taken from Peter, Paul, and Mary, Where have all the flowers gone?

New title: Where has all our money gone?

Where has all our money gone, long time passing?
Where has all our money gone, long time ago?
Where has all my money gone?
Young men have shot and lost most everyone.
Oh, when will we ever learn?
Oh, when will we ever learn?

Where have all the shooters gone, long time passing?
Where have all the young shooters gone, long time ago?
Where have all the shooters gone?
Gone for cheaper sports most everyone.
Oh, when will we ever learn?
Oh, when will we ever learn?

Where have all the big payoffs gone, long time passing?
Where have all the big payoffs gone, long time ago?
Where have all the payoffs gone?
Gone to triple A shooters most everyone
Oh, when will we ever learn?
Oh, when will we ever learn?

Where have all the old senior veteran shooters gone, long time passing?
Where have all the old shooters gone, long time ago?
Where have all the shooters gone?
    Gone to graveyards, most everyone.
Oh, when will we ever learn?
Oh, when will we ever learn?

Where have all the graveyards gone, long time passing?
Where have all the graveyards gone, long time ago?
Where have all these old timers gone?
    Gone to heaven everyone.
Oh, when will we ever learn?
Oh, when will we ever learn?

Where have all the old guns gone, long time passing?
Where have all the old guns gone, long time ago?
Where have all the shotguns gone?
Sitting in gun safes every one.
Oh, when will we ever learn?
Oh, when will we ever learn?

The song Roger Miller wrote for Ray Price in 1958-" Invitation to the Blues" was a great shuffle dance song. In some ways, it applies to trap shooting. By the way, it is a country-western tune, with fiddle and steel guitar. Charlie Henderson
