The wife went in for surgery on Fri. AM. for 'Barrets Asophagus'. It's a pre cancerous condition that when left untreated it normally turns into cancer. Symtoms are a lot of reflux, stomach pain, etc. The docs go in with a electrode similar to an ablation and burn the bad cells. Apparently they got the bad cells and other than discomfort in the form of pain she is doing fine. A load off my mind. Don't really want to lose her after 41 years.Posting this as a sigh of relief. Mike.

Went back and they got it all no problems. Thanks for all the well wishes. Mike.

That's great Mike. I believe the treatment you speak of is relatively new and supposed to be extremely successful. People have no idea how common an ailment that is. I've lost my father and younger brother to it. A simple help is to raise the head end of your bed by 3 or 4 inches. Just blocks of wood under the legs. Trying to do it with pillows does not work. I found this years ago in the Mayo Clinic's newsletter. If you're using lots of heartburn aids, you're heading for trouble years down the road. Do some research, it's preventable.

Good thing it was diagnosed early. My boss had that, and the cancer, and now he`s gone.
For years he would be clearing his throat and popping antacids,he smoked for 30 years ,but did quit, and ate fun food more than eating in.Combined with owning a small buisness=not so good.
