I sincerely think if it gets built (doubtful) it will be unbuilt in short order. And it won't take a 747 to do it.

Unfortunately for us, they are using our basic freedoms to work against us.

    It`s happening all across Europe.

I truley feel for those who were directly affected by the attacks, but we can't decide wich part of the constitution we want to follow. Religous freedom is as much a part as the right to bear arms. You can't be hypocritical on this issue unless you want to loose face on the ones YOU stand for. I served my country so everybody and I mean everybody has all the rights afforded to them that is allowed. Do I think it's a slap in the face, Yes. Do we have to like it, No. It's something we just have to come to terms with. Good luck Chuck Hrosik

Well, Chuck, you have to understand something.

A Muslim sign of conquest is to build a mosque at the location. This practice goes back further than the days of Saladin.

The original temple in Jerusalem had a mosque built right on top of it for this purpose.

why do you think this site was picked, out of all the real estate available on Manhattan Island when there are plenty of other places available? It's obvious.

Secondly, the principals in this action have proven ties to terrorism.

The slap in the face to the families of the 9/11 victims is unconscionable and should not be tolerated for one minute.

It has nothing to do with religion.

Being a democratic society we don't observe the rules that we choose to. We have to follow them all. As I said before you don't have to like. As a matter of fact I'm pretty sure they don't care what anybody on this site thinks. We're gonna have to accept it for what it is. In for a penny, in for a pound. Good luck Chuck Hrosik

I worked in the area and was there on that day. For more than 2 years, I could not work up the courage go back. I have a personal stake in this as do thousands of New Yorkers who were directly affected by this act. However, our freedom gives them the right to build it. It is their freedom too. That being said, I sincerely hope that it doesn't get built.

The funny part is that if the unions won't build it, they will probably seek a court order to force them to - and they might get one!

Soldiers in this country didn't fight, bleed, and die to afford rights to the enemy. The United States is viewed as the enemy. That's evident. In my mind, whoever views me as the enemy is my enemy. Not all muslims are terrorists but it seems as if all terrorists are muslims.

hrosik123: I too am a lifer in the military. I agree that we fought to preserve the freedoms guaranteed by the constitution. I haven't read or heard the story of the Muslims building a mosque on the site of the WTC. However, who owns or did own the land? If it is public property, then they have no rights. Even a law which I don't agree with is on our side, to wit: Separation of Church and State". If they are building a memorial to THEIR fallen heroes, they don't have a right. If they purchased the land (from whom) then they have a right to do what they want with it, unless there is some city ordnance to prohibit it. Probably, if we knew all the facts, the land that the WTC was sitting on was probably owned by some Muslim development corporation. Herb Roach, USN (Ret)

First of all Herb I want to say thanks for serving. As I understand it the land they are using is their property, so I don't think thats an issue. You hit the nail when you stated you served to protect an individuals rights under the constitution. As patriots and Americans we can disagree with whats being done but if we try to shut it down due to the fact that it's a muslim facility we're no better than they are, meaning the terrorists who use religion as a basis for what they do. We are better than that. Good luck Chuck Hrosik

No military person i know fought for a Muslim terrorist orginization's rights in this country to build a victory mosque at ground zero. It is much like the election of Hussein. Many people knew who he was from his associations and his past but still voted for him because they were caught up in the hype. This mosque is no different. We know the guy behind this and his associates are no good yet there are some that want to go along with his wishes. WHY? The spots on a leopard never change. There is no more time left for political correctness in this country. We have almost lost it to the socialists the way it is.
