Way O/T ?? 1/8" pipe thread

    Wanting to drill a hole in a small casting the proper size to tap with a 1/8" 27 NPT. What size drill should I use?

    John, go to your local hardware, (skip lowes) they can lead u in the right direction. They should have tapping charts.

    I am a machinist by trade and you need an "R" drill.

    P.S. If the casting that you are going to tap is Aluminum or some other soft metal, USE A SKIP TOOTH TAP and lots of oil to flush out the chips!!!!!

    if it's a choke thread it's for a .22
